I adore this place. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the tea. I love all the selections available with the guided tea menu to help you select what is best based on the time of day. The tea bar is fantastic! I returned half a dozen times to try new a different teas. I enjoyed watching the preparation of the tea by the experienced team there. It is like watching a tea ceremony. The amazing touches elevate the whole experience, including a reusable glass straw to go with the iced tea. Every time I return to London, I will go out of my way to enjoy stopping in for a beautiful, crafted cup of tea and to get more loose leaf tea to bring home. I highly recommend TWG Tea for anyone who loves tea.
TWG shops are high-end teashop. I only bought this tea takeaway for £5.49. The shop is beautiful and the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. Many shops in Asia.
Excellent Tea shop with top notch customer service. We were immediately greeted upon entry with a staff who were quick to answer questions. This knowledge staff could pin point taste, smell, ingredients, and combinations almost instantly among their wide selection! I would highly recommend this as a stop on your trip.
Famous tea merchant with upscale tea and very helpful staff. Lots of varieties to choose from! You can go traditional English or go Green or other styles.
The store is very beautiful inside. A very large selection of teas, but unfortunately the prices are very high. If you are looking for a gift for a friend, you will definitely find something there.
This place is pretty good. The atmosphere of this place is quite nice. It is very spacious. The tea for sale on the lower floor is lined up and set up in a really cool way. The upstairs is a nice place as well, where you can have a meal with tea. You may have to wait a little before you sit, but they have a nice museum to look at while you wait. Me and my family went their and got three tea pots. One of their teas was pretty bland but the others were really good. When you order, you really aren’t sure which tea will be really good or just bland. Their desserts are also really nice. There is also tea sold downstairs but it is a bit overpriced for the size it is sold at. But overall it’s a nice place to visit if you are in London. Probably wouldn’t recommend to buy the tea sold in packages downstairs but instead just have it made for you in the upstairs dining area so you can try.
Looks fantastic the TWG flagship shops. Didn’t realise they have so many different flavours of Teas all over the world. We don’t go inside the shop but looks good from outside. It’s right next to Leicester Square. Stations are Leicester Square, or the Piccadilly Circus.. Recommended. Worth a visit but thinking the tea there are quite expensive.
I went to the London store in Leicester Square today. I bought three small 50g tins and I asked the staff an asian lady that is filling my tin with loose leaf if it is possible to gift wrap my three tins. She said the shape is irregular and refused and I suggested I could pay for all three wrapping and all I want is for her to just attempt to warp it. Even if it turns out very messy I will still pay for it and at least we’ve tried. And she still refused now saying that wrapping the three tins is and I quote “against company policy” with a very very irritated and frustrated expression. I repeated again I will pay for everything and all I want is for her to at least attempt it but she still refused restating that it would be against company policy for her to wrap the tins this time with obvious frustration and impatience in her voice. So I went to another staff that helped me earlier and said the exact same thing and he agreed to at least look at it and try. He immediately found a way to wrap the tins, like how the sugar is wrapped and then he told her to wrap it like this for me. She aggressively refused him outright and after he insisted saying that it’s very simple and asked her to do it she lashed out against him and absolutely refuses to wrap my tins. He ended up agreeing to help me wrap and she has a very bad attitude after that. Her presence in the store is honestly the only bad aspect of an otherwise wonderful experience.
Big fan of the tea and was excited to visit, however wanted to slowly browse to work out what to get for different people and look around, however was approached by the same staff one too many times and hovered too much for my liking and I had to request to leave me alone to just browse I was dressed causally so suspect that might have been the issue. I feel this might just have been style expectation so would not normally feel it was an issues as was left alone. However the main reason for the 1 star, is that when we left, my friend was stopped by security and spoken to about being nicer to staff. My friend didn’t even speak to the staff or buy anything, and suspect was a mix up because we are both Asian and therefore infuriating that they couldn’t tell the difference we look nothing alike. Additionally, nobody made any comment / concern while I was purchasing £80+ pounds of tea, only as we were walking out after purchasing.
I have lived in California for 18 years, after living 16 years in Europe, every year I like to return to the old continent. One of the cities I love to visit is London. Walking through its streets is the best therapy. There are always novelties and places to discover, but there are classics where I always return: This corner is one of them. They have the largest selection of teas and their staff is very professional, they inform you of their qualities in a friendly way. On the first floor of the store there is a beautiful tea room. But they closed it because of covid and so far they haven't opened it. It is really fine, I hope that on my next trip it will be available. It is a classic. I highly recommend this place for a lovely pause in London.
