As usual the beds are the best part of a Travelodge. It is quieter at the rear of hotel. The ground floor smells of fire damage. The location here is terrible your on a dual carriageway so you can only go left on leaving and when returning you drive miles past the hotel so you can turn around and drive miles back there's no other route. It's the 1st Travelodge I never want to see again.
It was great, good price, lovely room, all clean and fresh. Just such a pity that Burger King next door has closed. We did order take aways which were fine. A good place to stop over.Rooms: 5/5
It was okay. We often opt for the purple rival but the Travelodge was significantly cheaper and it showed. Some basic amenities were lacking, only 2 plug sockets in the entire room and no hairdryer, but there is a bottle opener? On the plus side, it was clean, the lights in the headboard were good and the shower was excellent. The deal breaker though is having to pay for more than half an hour of WiFi, it's 2023 WiFi should be included and unlimited, particularly when I paid £80 for the room. The location is not ideal as you have to drive an extra 4 miles in the wrong direction to get there. The gentleman who greeted us behind reception was incredibly helpful and very pleasant.
It's a room, there's a bed. Entrance felt like a prison. The bathroom light is unsafe for epileptics as the flickering drove us mad. The pillows were bad and there wasn't a convenient place to charge the phones. The location requires significantly more travel when returning from York, as there's not a close place to turn around. The staff were pleasant and nice.
The room itself was lovely but we were surrounded by the most noisy neighbours in the next room aswell as the room above us! We stayed 2 nights and honestly it would have been more comfortable to sleep on the floor in the carpark because the beds were like concrete! It was myself and my husband and our 2 children and none of us had very much sleep. Getting out of the hotel was crazy bring on an a road I get that itl be busy but omg this was on a whole other level of crazy. Sorry but we won't be back. Next time wel look at other hotels... no sleep and noisy neighbours while away for the weekend wasn't a fun experience!
It's travellodge so you sort of know what you're getting and this place hit the minimum standards. The website had headline price of £36.99 but the best price was £42. On arrival we was given our key with no fuss. The room was comfortable if basic, I suspect it is due a refurb soon or at least a new carpet. The bathroom was a bit dated but totally acceptable. The location is just off an A road and on a cycle route. They could make more of that and offer cycle parking for cycling tourism, then promote it in the cycling press You can drive a couple of miles up the road and get the park and ride into York. There is no breakfast at this hotel, but there is a Greggs opposite. But I totally recommend going into York and visiting The Pig & Pastry parking at rear. For an evening Meal try the nearby Nags Head. Walkability: Not really walkable.
Standard Travel Lodge accommodation. Lady at reception was pleasant and welcoming. Room was clean and no issues. Location good for getting to York but you have to drive several miles past and then back to access if travelling westbound because of the dual carriageway.Rooms: 3/5
Very friendly and helpful staff, but rooms and bathrooms need serious attention. Stained carpet, bedding didn't smell too good, bathroom paintwork was dirty and peeling , plughole was dirty, and black marks on toilet.
Room was clean enough but a slight musty smell. Nowhere on site to eat on a Saturday afternoon or evening. The Burger King has permanently closed, the Greggs closes at 4pm and only a very limited range of snack items at the garage. Having already paid a high price for the room as a relatively late booking, was informed that I would have to pay extra for wifi. This is simply not acceptable in 2022. An overall disappointing experience and gave me no reason to chose Travelodge for my next stay away from home.
If its the only place available it'll do. It has a bed! No hot water for a bath and could do with a refurbishment. I'm sure they don't care if you enjoy your stay as long as you pay upfrontRooms: 2/5
