This is my 2nd long stay here, the hotel staff are really friendly, Izabella at reception is brilliant, you get greeted with the biggest smile ever, customer service is 2nd to none from the hotel staff. Any problems or faults the manager Andrew is straight on it.The rooms are clean and comfortable the beds are really comfy and clean. I can’t fault anything with the hotel. Everything you need is on the doorstep, shops, café’s restaurants, markets, Asda and Tesco. Railway station 3 minutes bus stops all around, don’t see the point in needing a car down here, it’s easier to jump on a train or bus to get to where you’re going. Feel safe and secure. I stayed for 4 months in 2022, I’m here for 3 months in 2023. I can’t fault anything from the hotel staff,customer service is great, very comfortable rooms and clean. If I do return again after this 2nd visit I will defo a be coming back here.
I would always recommend this hotel on the price u spend. Rooms are very clean, nearby restaurants and superstores available. Nice staff as wellRooms: 5/5
Rooms are small, no place to eat unless you go into town and no car park. The staff are great though and always happy to help.Rooms: 3/5
Pros: you pay for what you get, price is good for London standards, clean room, extremely close to eateries and supermarkets Cons: On arrival to check in, there was no one at reception. Instead there was a massive sign saying to call this number as the attendant was somewhere else in the hotel. As an international traveller travelling on budget who does not a UK number, I had to ask a random on the street to call the number. very uncomfortable. I went down a second time and the reception was unattended again. Perhaps someone else should be hired alongside Izabella, so she does not always have to attend to others within the hotel so the front reception seems to be empty all the time.
Disgusting place! There is no parking at this hotel it took us over an hour to look for a place to park!! The multi storey car park is £30 or more to park for 24 hours!! Travelodge did not make this clear when booking the website is misleading! Customer service was very poor! When we got there the room was not ready! And after waiting the room was dirty hair on bed, ear buds on the floor and the bath tub was blocked and dirty soap water from previous guests was still there in the plug hole absolutely disgusting!! I would avoid this travel lodge at all costs premier inn is much better but sadly they do not take paypal!!
No one manning the check in, despite it being past the 3 o'clock window. We couldn't get in for hours on the hottest day ever recorded and was then advised that there was only one person working in the entire hotel. We tried the number on the front desk, the one on our booking and the one available online with them all not answering and having the audacity to charge for the calls. Disgusting service and very dangerous with the temperature. One fan in the room but the only plug is near the bathroom so absolutely useless. Travelodge is meant to be easy and this has been anything but.
Great hotel in a great location, there is a Tesco downstairs and it is a 5 min walk from Barking station... half hour to central on District line or there is express c2c to Fenchurch St and Southend if you prefer to get away from the city... around the corner from Barking market with plenty of choice for food, groceries, clothing, etc... tea, milk and towels available on request at reception and staff are very helpful. Rooms can get a little hot as no A/C but to be expected in high 20s weather, but fans provided and windows do open a few inches. Only issue is rooms must get overbooked... as we arrived and were told our twin accessible room booked purely to have 2 twin was no longer available so we were given a double room with pull out bed.. may not be ideal for those with mobility issues so one to keep in mind. Apart from that, what can you expect with a budget chain like Travelodge? Would stay again.
We stayed for 7 days due to are flat having no water and electricity!!! I am 34 weeks pregnant and changing the bed was a nightmare for me to just think about it, but I slept like a baby, me and my husband we rest so good in the hotel. Staff are really nice and professional! Thank you so much!
Good value for your money. The room was spacious and clean with tea making facilities. The bed was big and comfortable with sidelights working. Clean and working bathroom with decent shower and the towel's smelt fresh. The reception staff were all very helpful, I needed an ironing board which was delivered To my room within minutes of my request. If you are just looking for a value centred place close to all the shops, restaurant's and a supermarket in Barking then you wont go wrong with this hotel. Overall I would definitely recommend this. *Note* the photos in this review were taken as I was leaving.
