I recently stayed at Travelodge Aldershot for three nights before travelling to London. I've actually stayed at this hotel several times over the past four years, and my previous experiences have really been positive, which is why I chose to return.nnThe room initially appeared clean and tidy, and the hotel's location remains very convenient for my travels. However, on closer inspection, I found several long hairs on the bed and around the floor, which was disappointing from a cleanliness perspective.nnThe biggest issue occurred on one of the nights when there was a significant water leak from an upstairs room. I understand that unexpected maintenance issues can happen in any hotel, and I don't blame the hotel for the leak itself. What was disappointing was the way our concerns were handled. The staff member dealing with the situation was not particularly helpful or empathetic, and the interaction left us feeling unwelcome at a time when we were simply seeking assistance. This unfortunately had a negative impact on our stay and disrupted our night's rest.nnThat said, I do want to acknowledge the rest of the team. Most of the staff were friendly, polite, and welcoming throughout my stay. Many of the staff members appeared to be Nepalese, which was nice for me as someone of Nepalese origin, and it made interactions feel more comfortable and familiar.nnDespite the issues, the hotel still offers good value for money and benefits from a very handy location. My experience this time was mixed—there were some genuine disappointments, particularly regarding cleanliness and how one situation was handled, but there were also positives that shouldn't be overlooked.nnI would likely stay here again because of the convenient location and the friendliness of the majority of the staff. I just hope greater attention is given to room cleanliness and customer service when dealing with guest concerns.
Stopped over for a wedding, was exactly what we needed for the one night. Everything was clean and comfortable, shower/bathroom was fit for purpose. Breakfast was well presented and a good range of options. Free parking in Morrisons car park, make sure you register your vehicle on arrival at reception. The entrance was a bit hard to find late at night. If you use the car park when you come out of the lift turn left, up the ramp to the pavement and walk to the end of the building where you will find the entrance!nStaff were very helpful and friendly!
The room was small but fine, but the bathroom was dirty. Hairs everywhere. The soap dispenser was broken and the hair/body wash ran out after two uses. Fortunately I had my own soap with me.nnMy room was overlooking the flat roof of the next door businesses that had air conditioning units/generators whirring constantly which was very disruptive.nnWhen I checked in, I couldn't even see the guy on the desk for a while because he was so slumped down in his chair and was staring at his phone. There wasn't a single moment when he wasn't on his phone for my whole stay.nnFYI the parking is a compromise. The spaces in the Morrisons car park are tight, and there are signs everywhere reminding you not to leave valuables visible. It didn't really feel like a safe place to leave my car. The car park was two floors below the hotel and the lifts were broken so it meant dragging large bulky suitcases up/down a lot of very slippery steps.
We had a really peaceful stay at this budget‑friendly hotel. The room was simple, clean, and quiet, which made it easy to relax after a long day. What really stood out to me, though, was the kindness of the
Room was right over the air conditioning units which were on full hum mode even with windows shut making it difficult to sleep. Pair of used eyelashes on the floor so not sure it was cleaned that well. Very basic hotel.
