Really good camp site spacious for motor homes, Van's, ect, or passing cyclist, camping in the dunes looking over the sea is spectacular. We had a basic spot on grass with no hook up for £20 per night. Safe swimming on the beach which is quite shallow a fair way out. Really helpful staff 'Barney"
Fabulous site by a beautiful beach. The staff were really friendly and helpful, especially Barney! No electric hookups but definitely one of our favourite stops on the Outer Hebrides.
Great location with just a short walk to the beech. The facilities were adequate but no electric hook up. The food trailer was closed which was a bit disappointing but overall we enjoyed the stay.
Lovely site and right on the beach. Showers are fine, despite others reviews. I felt there was enough privacy. Lovely friendly owner too who checked in on you. I would always pop in a pound to check shower will click.on before undressing, I got caught out. Probably the best views on the island from the campsite and surrounding hills.
Location of this campsite is great and plenty of pitches, the people who run the campsite are very friendly and the facilities were spotless. But to be honest you'd hope so at £20 a night and paying £1 for the shower. The disappointment however comes from despite all the empty pitches they seemed to cram everyone one next to each other, campervans were coming and going into the early hours of the morning then to be woken at 4am by another camper van idling for ages before eventually picking up his caravan and driving off. There's a cattle grid at the entrance/exit which made a racket every time a car passed over it. I think a lot of neighbouring campervans only came and went through the night to use the facilities too. A simple solution would be to do what many campsites do and have access to and from only between certain times. It is a shame as we thought we'd be hearing the sound of the waves crashing against the shore and not noisy campervans throughout the night. Also the beach, although it looks idyllic with white sands and clear blue waters, smelt quite sulphury. Also could smell this during the night too. Glad we didn't pay for two nights here, we'd had enough after one.
Amazing place to rest after a long cycle journey. Clean toilets and showers, helpful staff and the joy of sleeping on the beach under the stars..
Last minute booking as ferry was cancelled. The team fitted us in last minute, perfect pitch for our VW transporter. Showers and toilets very clean throughout our stay. The beach a short distance away and the WOW factor goes up a gear. The shallow bay allowed us to sample the Turquoise waters and white sands for the Harris experience which will last a lifetime in our memories.
There are charges for the site but not sure what you are paying for as the toilets are shown on maps as public toilets and showers are available for a small fee. No electric hook up here.
Oh dear. We were booked onto this campsite for one night so we turned up at the office opening time. Office was closed so waited and waited and waited. It turned out the man cleaning the facilities was the owner and clearly busy. Fair enough but having seen me clearly waiting an acknowledgment as he walked past me would have been nice not just a grunt and walk off. Manners cost nothing and he obviously didn’t have them. We left.
Not bad. Female showers only had one shower working for the whole camp site. 20 bucks for a spot for a camper van for a night with no hook up seems expensive. The beach is stunning though
