My girlfriend and I took a van tour of the Outer Hebrides.nnWhat a surprise to come across this campsite in the middle of nowhere, but full of charm.nThe owner was super friendly and smiling.nThe bathrooms were clean.nJust perfect!nnWe highly recommend stopping off in the middle of this little corner of paradise.
booked to stay here last minute as weather didn’t look great for wild camping, gem of a find. Arrived on the saturday which had live music and food in aid of charity which was brilliant, returned at the end of our trip and used the amazing belle tent as we had an early ferry the next day. Cool quirky wee campsite with lots of friendly faces.
Genuinely the most welcoming and friendly campsite I've been to.nEveryone staying there were also very east to get on with in the Blackhouse.nnA selection of camping spots and if you want to camp in more style the yurts & the bothy look lovely.nnGreig and his partner have really gone the extra mile with the little activities to do such as kayaking and canoing and offering firewood to burn at some of the fire-pits around the site.nI especially loved the touch with frozen homemade curries in the freezer and pouches of rice you could buy if you were caught out or just wanted a warm meal. They are spicy though so maybe with a glass of milk!nnI loved how peaceful and tranquil it all was whilst we were there.nnDefinitely coming back!
Reviewed as a campervan guest. I liked it but this is a quirky site and may not suit everyone particularly those who need blackwater disposal, those who prefer a traditional site layout and facilities and those folks with mobility issues due to gradient and distance to facilities , low access door height and dim lighting. However, the situation is super, the owners friendly and accommodating, and facilities were clean and well equipped. There are good arrangements for small tent campers, a bothy and yurts with tremendous views.
We had a great stay here last week. The facilities are great the staff is great and the tent pitches are some of the best ive found in Scotland. Would highly recommend to anyone traveling through and will definitely be coming back!
