We had a great few days here a few years ago on our Honeymoon. John is a great host and made our stay very memorable. Fresh loaf of bread in the mornings and our Yurt was our little paradise. Not for everyone but we loved it...more than our castle stay on Lewis and that was way more expensive. For us in July that year, midges were no where to be found and I recall staying up and reading a book using the midnight sun as my light while sitting on a large rock right outside our Yurt.

On a bright sunny day the place is stunning. The site is on a moderately steep slope which if raining turns into a small river. The motorhome area is at the top of the slope with the camping part own hill. Some campers we met said they could feel the water running underneath their tent. The facilities are very much an acquired taste situated in thatched bothys. Not much heating in the facilities but with no door heating would not help much. The recreation bothy was good with a wood stove, shame the wood was saturated. Go on a sunny day and leave if it rains.

Nice campsite with lots of little pitches, some hidden away. Ground was quite damp in places. Toilets and showers are decent enough. Owners nice & friendly too. Views are lovely, very relaxing place.

Remote location, less frequented. Good facilities but toilet and shower-rooms are not heated. Ground is quite wet for camping and liked by the midges. A lot of small spots to pitch the tent, most of them are uneven. Not suitable for bigger tents. Long distance from carpark to campground. Price is good.

We had 2 amazing nights at Lickisto. The layout of the campsite is very special with lots of plants and vegetation forming walkways and lots of little areas so when you camp you are very secluded from everyone else. The blackhouse is stunning and was a great place to hang out on the night it rained, after seeing all the croft cottages throughout the Hebrides we were desperate to go in one, so we were thrilled to have the chance. We spent most of our time there down by the water looking out on to the sea loch where a colony of seals were sunbathing. John the owner is a top bloke and we spent a fair bit of time hanging out with him. I'd recommend Lickisto to anyone and everyone!
