We did stay for three nights. Friendly staff, late check-in possible, super clean and nice sanitary rooms. Possibility to wash and dry. And on top there is the „dunes“-cabin with good coffee and food.
A great location to explore both North and Outh Uist from. Quite open to the elements but helpful staff, a little shop and 30 seconds from the most amazing beach I have ever seen! Restrooms: Plenty of hot water but paid showers..£1.00 for 7.5 mins. Very clean facilties.
Amazing location, right by the beach. Great facilities, including showers, very clean toilets, communal kitchen with dish washing sinks, kettle, washing machine and tumble dryer. The reception is open late. Very friendly staff. The only issue I've found was having to pay for a shower time limited.
We’re just back from a week camping at Balranald campsite, it’s been amazing! The staff were lovely, campsite was clean and well maintained and all the facilities you could need. The reception sold a few necessities and they had lots of information on local walking routes and places to eat plus the views and sunsets are stunning. Would highly recommend this place and will definitely be happy to return….make sure you’re on the beach for the sunsets
Small and cosy campsite. Even full it didn’t feel over crowded. Lots of fresh water points and 2 buildings with showers and bathrooms, which deserve a 5 star review on their own. Always clean and tidy. Had minor difficulties booking as I had to book individual nights for the stay but the staff was of course amazing and had sorted it to still be the same pitch. The beach and machair next doors are worth a visit on their own. Beautiful fields and views to the west for sunset.
A fantastic campsite! Easily the best campsite of our trip so far west coast of Scotland, Harris/Lewis. The setting is nice, the beach over the road is stunning and gets sunset. We were lucky to get one of the last few pitches without a booking early Sept, but imagine a booking would be necessary during peak periods. We were welcomed by a really friendly member of staff and enjoyed our overnight stay. The on site hot food cafe is great - a simple menu, but we were very grateful for it as it was the first campsite to actually have their hot food service open at all!! The facilities are CLEAN literally as clean as a fancy hotel and quite new. It’s so clear that a lot of care is taken of this site. Practical notes: - Campervan pitches have electric mix of hard standing and grass pitches available - Grey waste drain area with hose for fresh water - Chemical toilet disposal included in price - Showers we’re warm and clean did I mention they’re clean?. You’ll need a £1 coin for 7.5 mins which is more generous than others we visited on Harris/Lewis
Stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed it.. all the facilities are great and you can book online. Nice beach across the road and the little food hut does lovely food. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the 11am departure time. We prefer a midday departure which gives plenty of time for breakfast, showers etc. Would stay again.
Facilities are excellent, clean and well kept with little extra touches such as fresh flowers. Showers are £1 for 7.5 minutes although it's a very short 7.5 minutes! and there is also a drying room and laundry facilities, kettle and microwave. There are local crafts for sale in reception and The Dunes Cabin for hot food and cake. The site is located close to a couple of beautiful beaches with a nice circular walk, and within a nature reserve so there are lots of birds to see. My only disappointment was the view - a tatty farmyard. Would come again though
Stayed here for two nights. The beach behind the site is amazing, golden sand with gentle shallow walk into sea, so safe for all swimming capabilities. Beautiful walk around the bird reserve too. Great staff, facilities and even a food cabin open from 11-3pm check time of year
Loved this place. Super clean. Friendly staff. Dunes Cabin food was fresh and delicious yes, got the scallop and black pudding roll…sublime. Excellent walks and so peaceful. Beach is really nice and managed a refreshing swim.
