When it comes to roast dinners, we really know our stuff. Every day our chefs lay on a feast of tender, hand-carved meats with all the trimmings – including towering Yorkshire puds, golden roasties with all those lovely little crunchy bits, and plenty of freshly prepared veg, all crowned with proper gravy. So it's no wonder we're North Tyneside's favourite carvery restaurant.

Tis what it is you need to time it right at breckie to get the best out of this place or you are left with pretty basice dry portions. On the other hand if it's all fresh it's good. Note to manager: Yorkshire's should be at the start of the buffet not the end. Better to fill them with stuff then

Haven't been to a Toby for years and this showed us what we have been missing.. Best meal we have had put for so long! Clean, calm, friendly and helpful staff, delicious food. Roast beat a home-cooked one, which is rare! Shame it was a holiday visit or we would definitely be back like a shot!  Kid-friendliness: Welcoming and suitable for well behaved children

No one explained what to do when we arrived. Once we knew when we asked after waiting we got 2 carvers, roast potatoes were warm at best, hardly any carrots to choose from. Once the mac and cheese arrived it was burning hot, too hot for a child. Chicken  nuggets arrived with bean juice on. We didn't order beans so why was there bean juice on. Man said he mistakenly put them in beans, took them off them put on a clean plate with the bean juice still on. After my request for another plate of nuggets they eventually arrived. We waited ages for the plates to be cleared and only cleared when i asked for puddings. No garlic bread for my kids just topped off the awful experience. So all they had to choose from for starter was soup or prawn cocktail.  For children...really? Is that the best kids menu you can come up with? Will never return to this place, will stick to our local in future.

Staff were lovely,waitress moved us to sit by their heater as it was so cold. Turkey was good portion & beautifully cooked. 2 Yorkshire puddings & parsnips, couldnt be better!! Plenty more veg & potatoes to select plus all condiments in stock. Great experience thanks.Food: 5/5

I felt for the staff here today - it was unexpectedly extremely busy which left them failing to deliver on expectations. I fully appreciate that the business can't employ extra staff to stand around 'just incase it gets busy'. There were a few customers pushing for the food to be cooked quicker than it possibly could be which must have caused panic in the kitchen as the hash browns arrived looking slightly undercooked which led to customers requesting refunds and leaving. I felt that if everyone had of just waited patiently and understood the position the staff were in, everyone would have gotten what they wanted even if it did take a little longer than usual.

On arrival we were told they were running 5 minutes behind.  Several parties arrived after us with bookings after our time, but were seated before us.  One member of staff behind the bar & couldn't cope with the numbers, the member of staff greeting customers also kept disappearing to clear tables & take orders for desserts etc, leaving customers standing for unacceptable lengths of time.  The chef carving the meat had no welcome about him at all, everything seemed to be a hassle for him.  Vegetables were on low supply, had to wait for replenishment, it was obvious there was not enough staff in for the amount of customers

Food was good. Service really wasn't great and let the place down. Was told it would be a 15 minute wait on a table, ended up being about 40. We don't mind waiting, but would rather have been told realistic times.Food: 5/5

Booked a table for tonight.  Upon arrival was informed there was no meat left.  Offered sausages, salmon encroute or chicken strips.  This has happened on several occasions and totally unacceptable.  Will never book a table again Obviously don't order enough food in to cover

it was quite busy due to the 50% off mains.  luckily we had booked. we were expecting queues.  waited a little while for a table and a build up of a queue while waiting for roasties, then gravy.  ran out of beef. my partner ordered a drink which they had forgotten about, understandably with  it being busy and was pleasantly suprised when I wasn't charged for it. the staff worked well considering  Parking: plenty free parking

Food could've been refreshed on th carvery. Meat was nice but veg warm and dry-maybe been standing too long. Value for money ok but wouldn't like to pay weekend prices unless food served hot.Food: 3/5
