I’m confused by the negative reviews. Came in this evening, beer was good as well as the mixed grill. Steak was cooked to medium as requested. Our experience was all positive
The food was Mediocre at best. The veg was quite mushy and bland. The pork loin was really dry and Yorkshire was rock solid. The potatoes weren’t even worth eating. The pork loin was meant to come with pork crackling on the dinner but didn’t, good job I ordered an extra portion. Service was very slow and it took 25 minutes just to order a drink and food. The drinks and food came together about 20 minutes later quite speedy. It then took another 20 minutes after finishing food to try and catch someone to order a dessert. It wasn’t even busy at this point. The sticky toffee pudding was very tasty. Sadly won’t be returning. 5/10.
Met my beautiful friend Tracey for tea tonight at the Pavilion and just had to say what a lovely venue. Delicious food and drinks but the stars of the show were Lydia and Ruby who took such great care of us. Absolutely bowled over by their great customer service and attention to detail. Thank you so much ladies and I hope your employers are as pleased with you as we were! We’ll be back!
No food 90+ minutes after ordering, with two toddlers in the group without food. Left before the food arrived, pretty convinced we could have been there another half an hour without anything happening. Even the drinks took half an hour to reach the table. No updates and no apologies provided.
Booked in advance and was really looking forward to our date night, as soon as we got there we were advised to go to the bar to place our for food and drinks as we're really short on staff. No waiting on staff . Not a good start. Food was lovely but when you run out of coca cola half way through your meal you don't want to stand in a queue that is nearly all the way to the front doors. At least could of emailed or called all your reservations and given the choice to cancel or go elsewhere. Not what the place used to be like when it first opened. Don't think we will be again in a hurry.
We never used to visit as the menu wasn’t the best but it has been updated and over the past couple of months we’ve become regulars. I’m surprised by some of the negative reviews to be honest. The staff are always lovely, the drinks are good and the food is good.
Only 3 for atmosphere because we visited on a Tues @ 12:30, so rather quiet. Would definitely visit again - interesting menu. Parking: Plenty of parking spaces surrounding the Pavillion Wheelchair accessibility: Very flat, easy accessibility
The chicken schwarma is probably the best dish. Service isn't great, chatting and not serving and not clearing tables. Nice atmosphere.
Menu: Carrots, Kale and Potatoes. Plate: 1 Carrot, 2 Leafs of Kale and 3 Potatoes. Never left hungry after a Sunday dinner before, so this is a first. Nice beef, however a very expensive snack overall.
This is a great pub/restaurant. There's a brilliant menu and the food is amazing. We chose burgers from the 10th Birthday menu and they were fabulous! The staff are lovely especially Jimmy, the manager. They also host music nights with local bands. The Queen tribute band for The Pavillion's 10th birthday celebrations was a brilliant night out. Looking forward to more visits for food and band nights in the future.
