Highly recommended! You’re definitely getting much more than what you’re paying. The food options are really good and you’d be leaving the place fully satisfied. The food is addicting and I can’t wait to get back!Recommended dishesSunday Roast
Well all I can say is that Jonathan and the other staff went above and beyond, to help me make my parents 50th wedding anniversary the best ever! Unfortunately I couldn’t make the event, I had spoken to Jonathan about my plans to dress their table for a surprise. He kindly offered to do this for me. I took up the party materials and left them to it. To my surprise they used their helium and made the table look fabulous! My parents were delighted! And shocked! Many tears were shed with happiness that night. My parents loved what they did and the food was amazing for them all. Jonathan sent me pictures so I will share them with you. Thank you Jonathan & Toby carvary staff xxx
We love going here. This time we had even better service. My youngest has autism tendencies where he struggles with loud noises and social issues. They was so helpful when my child dropped his drink on his dinner and one lady came straight over and cleaned up and got everything ready to get a whole new meal which at first he did t know what to do. She was so helpful and kind and understood his needs.
Decent food at excellent prices. The meat especially is delicious. The buffet vegetables and trimmings are okay but not outstanding. And they could quite often do with being hotter. It's a popular place, and I can understand why. What they do they do pretty well, and at good prices.
Great overall experience, the staff were working really hard and as a team, considering the restaurant was extremely busy with the 50% offer I feel the service was excellent. Staff were attentive, helpful and the guy serving on the carvery deserves a special mention for how well me was managing to serve by himself with a really long queue. The only small criticism I have is I think they could do with 1 other person serving at the bar as he was having to deal with all the table orders, aswell as a queue of people at the bar, it took quite a while to get served drinks before we sat down for our meal.
Came for Sunday carvery. Was really nice. Very much worth the money. Working for Mitchell's and butlers myself in a different area I'm aware as to what to expect or not expect and I thoroughly enjoyed this. Laura was our waitress and she was really friendly and smiley. Although it was very busy she didn't leave us for long on any occasion. Well done Toby carvery in Stevenage Parking: Large amount of parking
Maurice I found out is the good chef name because I said complimebts to the chefs last time as the food was very good, much better than before. And found out he was the only chef working that day. So if you want the best food ask if he is working. He cuts the meat very nice as well. Other than that it's a decent Toby carvery, can get busy at times and they often don't have some beers which is a shame. Could do with some more real ales on draft and a keg of pale ale. Bit too busy on a Sunday to be worth going then really but if you are craving a roast it will still be worth it. Best to book as they get busy at random times Parking: Park in the car park not in the road
Excellent service from the waiter who recognised us from an earlier visit. The beef was probably the best I have had in any Toby carvery. Usual gripe some of teh veggies were cold, which is rather what you come to expect, you would have to get very lucky to find fresh of everything coming out at the same time. Nice meal overall. Parking: Large car park, plenty of parking/
First time here and thoroughly enjoyed the visit . Went for Sunday lunch and think by the amount of people in the restaurant booking would be essential. Served with our drinks order very quickly , and then queued for carvery .It took about 15 mins. to be served but it was worth it as the food choice and quality was very good. I had extra large plate so had 2 yorskshires , sausages and more meat as well as the self service vegetables. The bill for 4 including drinks and 2 desserts was very reasonable .I am sure we will be back in the near future.
We visited yesterday. Positives first, waiter friendly and efficient! However the host was hostile acted like we were an inconvenience for not booking despite the fact over 20 tables were free in my eyesight and staff were certainly not over run including one lady sat at one of her tables most of the time. When seated again the host said nothing to us, table wasn't laid up, luckily we understand how the carvery works! Food tasted nice but was so cold! We didn't get a check back or a check as our plates were cleared so never got the chance to give feedback. Thought about telling the manager however after his hosting skills we have it a miss!
