Good menu selection; more than you would normally see in a similar establishment. Really friendly and caring staff, especially the chef who came to our table to ensure everything was being enjoyed. Great value for money. Will certainly be back.
Lovely pub exactly what we wanted. Wasn't too crowded and service was quick. Order from table wasn't working but that was a very minor issue. Food was ordered from the bar and was quick, hot and delicious. Pub was clean and tidy and staff were very pleasant. Ample size car park and some outdoor seating also. Some covid measures in place with masks optional and sanitising stations available.
What you expect from a Hungry Horse, value for money with ok food and ok service. Good selection of drinks with a big restaurant and a carpark to match.
A very busy pub but ... Needs more staff . Food took extremely long to come out a standard chicken sandwhich which was delicious no complaints there n the menu looks awsome ! The decor is beautiful aswell but I really feel for the team.
The old red lion is such a welcoming and friendly pub, with a good atmosphere. The staff are approachable and very catering. The pub is very child-friendly and the food is always cooked to the best quality. I would highly recommend if your looking for a nice place to spend an evening
Food is tasteless and fish cooked in the same fryer as everything else. Cheap but honestly, go elsewhere. Two stars is generous because of the price
We came in a few weeks before we intended to attend to sort out a table for Christmas and was told we had to do it online. We went online and could only book for 6, I was never told to send a request for a table for 11. We had to book 2 tables separately. I came in 3 weeks before the date I booked to explain that we would like for the tables to be seated together and the manager just gave me a load of attitude and was not very helpful. On the day, the manager started to blame everything on the way we booked it. The food came out cold. The starters all came out together but the main course was a different matter. Firstly 6 meals came out together and cold. 20 minutes later the other meals came out. This was 9pm after we had booked for 7pm. We had to ask for cutlery and to clean the table but they never cleaned it properly. They didn't have lemonade or coca-cola, they had a very poor selection of drinks. There was one toilet out of order and the other had a hole in the glass window. Every time we tried to raise our issues we were knocked back and made to feel it was our fault. The bar staff were absolutely lovely but it was the lady in charge that made us feel like we were a hindrance. For a Christmas meal, there was no festive atmosphere and no music. We also had to ask for our mains to be cleared and for our pudding to come out. These came out at 9:30. Some of us had the same desserts and there were various levels of temperatures.
Dinner and drinks for 4, food good , good choices not too expensive. used AA app to get 15% off. Had to move to be near a radiator but it was very cold out. Wait staff friendly. Bar bit slow but busy
Food ok Staff very nice. However I ordered a burger on Friday night, expecting to get 2, when one turned up I asked where the other one was. I was informed that I should have ordered 2, but the young lady said she would see the manager and see if she could put it though for me. I finished my meal and my wife finished her meal and I am still waiting for an answer very poor communication between staff and customer. The menu said buy one get one free said nothing a bout having to order 2
Food was top quality, reserved a table, staff were friendly and helpful. Will be going back again soon as lovely pub and great atmosphere. Highly recommended.
