Went for Father's Day and couldn't have asked for a better experience. 3 adults and 1 child, we all had the Sunday roast. It was delicious, everything was cooked perfectly from the meat to the roast potatoes to the Yorkshire puddings. Nice glass of house wine to top it off. It is a lovely place to go for dinner, the atmosphere was great and the service was just as good. We will definitely be going again soon. Kid-friendliness: Bouncy castle in the garden and lots of space to run around. Staff talk to the kids as well.

Was a lovely summers day, so me and my loving partner decided to have a spot of lunch at this fine establishment. My darling ordered the beef roast, where as I ordered the White Horse sizzler. We waited a few minutes for a waiter/waitress to come to our table, however it was just like my first nandos experience to my shock I had to get out of my chair… to order at the bar which I don’t mind as it get my daily steps up We got our drinks and my loving partner got her beef roast out first, to which she could only describe as mediocre.. finally not long after my Sizzling chicken had arrived. Now this is where everything unfortunate went down hill, the food it self was alright but you order a sizzled chicken you hope that the first thing the waitress is “be careful the plates hot” which did not happen… and my chicken wasn’t bloody sizzling! Now I’m all for a good crack and that… but why on earth would you call it a White Horse Sizzler when A It’s not a horse… and B It’s not sizzling. This is just false advertisement and I feel like I’ve been lied too.. All in all solid 10/10 just frustrated must be the heat.

Great food at this welcoming country pub. We had the Sunday roast and salmon en croute and they were both delicious. They have a very large beer garden and a bouncy castle for children.
Probably my favorite pub at the moment based on my visit. Lovely atmosphere, very clean. Ice cold beers. Good sizeable beer garden with plenty of space. The chicken Kiev was beautifully cooked and very well presented. Will definitely return, very happy.
Had a Sunday roast which was nice apart from the beef which was very tough. I couldn't eat it. Others in our group had different meats with their roasts and they were fine. Apple crumble was really good. Great attentive service.
Visited yesterday for my daughters birthday. Have visited quite a few times last year and the year before when it was really nice, friendly and lovely food but, on this occasion we thought it had gone down hill, first of all when ordering food my son in law was made to feel quite uncomfortable, he thought the owner serving was quite off with him. When food arrived in the garden we asked if we could have two more drinks, after a while they sent a rather embarrassed waitress out to say we won’t serve drinks in the garden shame when you are spending over £100 on food and drinks, it was never a problem last year food was disappointing steak n Stilton pie was overdone on the bottom and three out of our four person party had a bad stomach when we got home. Most summers we have visited this pub 5-6 times through the summer but won’t be this year, very disappointing
This is a little gem of a pub. I had the fish and chips it was probably the best I've ever had. That is high praise indeed. If you've never eaten at the white horse, change it! Amazing, friendly and great value.
Great home cooked food. Staff are friendly and very efficient. Will definitely return
