Nice place and great food. Really friendly staff and I love the place. Beware though dogs are welcome which I don't mind after all it's a country pub... but dogs sitting on the chairs/ benches... yuk! So apart from a grubby dog on the seat everything else is fab! After dog walkers and dogs left a couple came in and sat down they were both smartly dressed... I wonder if they are confused as to why they would have had dog hair on them?.... I would still go back for the good food and pleasant staff though 😊

One of the last ‘real pubs’ on the Wirral, in the world for that matter. Beer is good, food is good, atmosphere is good. It’s a simple formula set in an authentic environment, sounds easy, try finding anything close to this anywhere though and you’ll have difficulty. We love this place. The toasties are spectacular. I hope ‘The Thatch’ stays as it is, and I think it will.

Great real pub. Friendly. Two very different halves. The fabulous proper pub bar lounge with log burners and the hayloft restaurant. Posh dining similar to the Brunning and Price chain and it works. Have eaten bar meals and in the hayloft. Never been disappointed. Good choice of proper beer and lager is provided for those wishing to be more European. Car park slippery when wet. Oh and it's a graded building centuries old so duck as you enter the main door. Only let down by cold toilets in the traditional style but that's not the main reason for visiting this fine establishment.

Love it. Fillet steak is just the best in the country. Amazing service and very good ambience. I go regularly to enjoy a good dinner!
