Very nice pub.. food worth every penny.. had beer battered fish on the Saturday night and wife had chilli beef.. then a Sunday dinner.. like I say worth every penny and worth a visit.. had beer garden too.. but limited parking
Had a really great meals here, very reasonably priced, well worth visiting
Wonderful friendly staff and the food was fantastic. A quiet little treasure cove. Highly recommended!
I was staying a five minute drive away and popped in most nights for a pint on my way back to my accommodation. A comfortable pub, beer is kept well and the staff are friendly. Food is reasonably priced and good. Well worth a visit if you're in the area
Good pub grub. Reasonable prices. They actually have a water driven wheel, too.
Lovely restaurant, large indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor seating is pretty and spacious. Good food, good service. Went for lunch, had fish burger and sea bass, large portions.
An amazing friendly place! Lovely food and ales. The landlord went out of his way to help us find local attractions and gave us a discount booklet. Give it a go you won't be disappointed.
A definite step backwards. We have been visiting the watermill for over ten years on Saturday lunchtimes as a group of 6/8. It was always a reliable and consistent choice for lunch. However having visited twice this winter we have been disappointed. Initially excited by the great value lunch menu, we were let down by the simple aspects of restaurant service. No white bread for the lunch menu was surprising, but we were particularly disappointed when a cheese burger ordered with skinny fries lacked cheese and the note for skinny fries clearly lost/ignored. The burger itself was of exceptionally poor quality and visibly overcooked. The staff were informed but were unable to offer any form of discount/solution beyond replacing the meal. As we were short on time this was not an option. An offer of a discount etc would've improved the service and overall situation but instead the situation was left awkward and unsolved. Going forward the watermill needs experienced FOH staff if it is to regain the standards it once held. Regardless of this issue, the other lunch options are fantastic value for money at less than £10 and very tasty indeed. Hopefully more restaurants offer an affordable lunch menu in future.
Lovely food ..great garden and stream waterfall ..
Remarkable building in beautiful location. Genuine olde world watermill with actual preserved milling mechanism a feature. Whitewashed stone walls a metre thick give a sense of the generations who have found welcome and sustenance in this grand old hostelry. Seems popular for dining although I didn't on my visit. Any real ale buff will give it a miss however as only one ale on offer and that a bit stale. The building is the thing and would be a good venue for a group event if none of your party are beer snobs like me!
