We visited the old quay house for my mothers birthday. As it was a Sunday lunchtime, most of us had the carvery and it was excellent. Really good value and fantastic quality. The other meals ordered from the menu were also excellent and special care was taken to accommodate the special dietary requirements for one of our guests. The staff were excellent, we were made to feel welcome from the time we arrived till the time we left. If I could give 6 stars it would certainly be worth it. Highly recommended.
We stopped for a drink and sit in the play area. Nice big play area. Had a peak at the menu, not for us. Seemed quite basic and not much vegetarian options, but it seemed popular so they obviously do it well.Service: 3/5
Location and views are beautiful with a lovely play area for the children. We visited for a family meal. 6 adults and 3 children. £8.95 for a childs meal was way overpriced for a small plate of food. Overall it was nice but nothing special for the prices charged, won't be eating there again.Service: 2/5
The outdoor facilities were great for the kids and adults to chat. We went inside at around 15:00 to ask for the drinks menu and were told that they don't serve food until 18:00. That's great information and well sign posted outside but we asked for a drinks menu. So we kindly acknowledged the waitress and asked again for a drinks menu. We were again told that they don't serve food until 18:00 and she still have us the food menu anyways. If you didn't have a drink menu, maybe just say you don't have a drinks menu, as we didn't even ask about food. Poor attitude from waitress
Met friends her on Wednesday 28th September for a long over due catch up. Staff very friendly and helpful. Meals we had were lovely especially the crab salad my husband and I had . We did get to taste a prawn as well and that was lovely to. Puddings were scrummy. All in all an excellent lunch and catch up . Thank you
Sunday lunch for grownups, a fabulous venue for youngsters with good outside space and play area. The service throughout was poor, waiting for menu and ordering , waited for drinks and desserts ordering and serving. The meal I would describe as homely is complimentary. Two strong tips. Improve the very thin gravy and come up with a different system rather than using small plates and large plates . The small plates overflow with gravy and not easy to eat the contents . Better to serve less meat and other expensive ingredients on a normal size plate . Value for money is excellent at £11.50 and £14.95 , however a ploughman’s at £15 is overpriced . The desserts were good but also disproportionate to the main course at £8.95.. In summary would recommend a visit.
Had a get together with work colleagues and had the Carvery..... wonderful food, succulent beef, pork and gammon all fresh veg, gravy, Yorkshire pud . Service was great, very friendly staff. Definitely recommendService: 5/5
Had an excellent Christmas Dinner here with our walking group. The service was excellent, the food well presented and delicious. Large car park and welcoming bar.
Booked the upstairs function room for a funeral tea for approximately 40 people. The service was excellent as was the buffet with an endless supply of tea and coffee. The venue was perfect and would also be suitable for weddings. The owners and very nice and on hand to offer that personal touch.Rooms: 5/5
The Old Quay House is a restaurant NOT a hotel. Questions asked do not relate. The staff are friendly, the food hot and delicious, the setting is perfect. Can recommend to all.Service: 5/5
