"The Red River Inn is a friendly pub situated in the small, seaside village of Gwithian, just a few minutes walk from the Cornwall Coast Path. The pub is named after the nearby river which, until the latter part of last century, was coloured red by iron ore run-off from the now defunct tin mines of Camborne and Redruth.Join us for a meal or drink in the bar and dining area or if you prefer to enjoy what Gwithian and Cornwall are famous for – fresh air and wide open countryside - then you are welcome to dine outside in our beer garden."

Lovely food. The roast was stunning. The crumble to die for. Our waitress was fantastic Honey and the other staff here today were just as brilliant. We had the nut roast. Very very nice. The chef can certainly cook. Very high quality food and excellent service.
What an amazing day! Our daughter and now husband spoke to Fraser and booked the Red River for their wedding reception and what a fantastic day we all had. Fraser was incredibly amenable and clearly listened to all their requests. He also came up with excellent suggestions and alternatives if the weather was inclement. With a garden, bar, dining area, courtyard and tapas bar, options were wide and varied for their use. All the staff worked with smiles throughout which really added to a wonderful atmosphere on what turned out to be a very wet day! We have received many comments regarding the food which was delicious and plentiful. We also booked the very spacious and spotless apartment upstairs for the weekend. We would most definitely recommend the Red River to celebrate a wedding or other big occasion. Thank you, Fraser and all your staff.
Food was very good but took a long time to be served, the place was not busy at all but it still took 45 minutes to serve Nachos. The sweets menu is very limited. The only beers available where chilled ones but our bottle of wine was good. Service was poor. If it wasn't for the good food it would have been 1 or 2 stars
We always look forward to visiting the pub on our Cornwall holidays. The food is normally good with attentive service. Tonight was quite simply dreadful. We arrived at 7pm and ordered our start two starters between 4 of us. One starter came and the second took an hour after the staff being reminded twice. Three of our mains eventually came out at 9pm but the fourth took another forty minutes to arrive. Both of our drinks orders were incorrect. Meals were being returned by other guests as the standard of service became comical. I was told my bill would be reduced but again there was an error and I had to point out that they were charging me £22 too much. One member of staff tried hard and provided good customer service she was not supported by the staff with her. We will look for an alternative pub on future visits.
My husband and I called in for a meal on the last night of our holiday. The service was very good. We both had the leek and potato soup and foccacia. The leek & and potato soup was the best I have ever tasted. Our main course was fish and chips with minted pea mash. It was very nice. The batter was very light and non greasy. All went very well with a pint of local cider. We will most definitely revisit when we are in the area next. We ate there midweek in February and didn't need to book. However, I believe it gets very busy from spring onwards, so I would recommend booking during the busier times of the year.
Just had a nice stroll the beach and decided to stop for a pint in this quaint pub, wasn't really hungry but we decided to have a couple of starters for nibbles, the mussels and scallops were the best!!!! Definitely equal to any top restaurants, we ask for a little spice in the scallops and the chef nailed it ,, top chef !!!!
Popped in, as I was passing, for a quick drink following a days walking. The pub is in an excellent spot for visitors to Godrevy or exploring the Cornish coastline. However, charging £5.50 for a pint of bog standard bitter? No thanks. Best avoided.
Very fortunate to win ,family of 4 Sunday roast, delicious food, can well recommend. Very nice surroundings ,2 fires lit ,friendly staff.Sadly not a day for a walk on the beach
Very good food at reasonable prices, Sunday lunch £13.00, bargain. Parking is a little limited, not many spaces for this popular pub. Good sized beer garden for outdoor dining. Our small yappy dog was tolerated by the other guests. Very friendly staff and excellent food.
Nice small garden outside. Good menu, the fish chowder is superb, nachos also great. Beers varied and well kept. Second visit as enjoyed the food so much first time when visiting on bikes! Card only payment.
