The Waterloo Inn

About

Family, walkers and dog friendly, real ale pub, serving home cooked food, with touring campsite on the Tissington Trail in the Peak District, Derbyshire

Story

Steve and Debbie Thomas welcome you to our traditional country pub located in the Peak District village of Biggin-by-Hartington. Adjacent to the Tissington Trail, we offer a wide selection of Real Ale, lagers, wines, and other drinks. For the hungry, we cook a variety of "Home cooked and hearty" meals, as well as bar food, perfect for a meal out or a quick snack. Those visiting the area can book into our camping ground, which boasts hard-standing for tourers and electric hook-ups.

We are at the heart of our community with currently 7 teams playing darts, dominoes and pool, and also put on quizzes, live music and other events.

So, come along for a warm welcome, sit in front of our log fire and enjoy good beer and good food. We look forward to seeing you.

Not pretentious, just an honest local pub which caters well for visitors, particularly walkers and dogs. The menu has a wide range of pub favourites but both times I've visited, I've simply gone for the sandwiches with a bowl of chips. You can tell from this however, the thought and care that is put into the preparation and presentation of the food. Good range of cask ales plus friendly and attentive service. What more can you ask for a lunchtime stopover on a winter's walk?

Got caught in a medical pinch while out exploring the Peak District on my motorcycle. I popped in and asked if I could borrow use of their restroom to see to my medication. Was greeted by a friendly member of staff and nothing but smiles. Great homely vibes, Definitely somewhere I’ll grab a bite to eat at next time I’m up that way.
