Stayed for 3 nights at a wonderful 2-bedroom lodge, the staff were extremely helpful and polite to us. The lodge was clean, tidy, included all the essential amenities and it was quiet and peaceful outside. We were also satisfied with the hot tub provided. It was our first time here and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you.
Husband and I stayed here Monday till Friday, and our stay was amazing, we couldn't fault anything and lodge has everything you need. The grounds are immaculate and staff are friendly.Would like to say a Hugh thank you to Sam and all the team for making our holiday so enjoyable. We going home to sober up now
Absolutely lovely place, from check in with a lovely lady , the tranquil setting, the wonderful wildlife. Amazing, relaxing place far away from everything. Facilities in the Hawthorn lodge were home from home. Spotlessly clean. Fantastic few days away, relaxing in the hot tub.
Excellent experience. We stayed in the luxury 2 bedroom lodge, it was beyond our expectations. Site was in a excellent location in the beautiful countryside. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Definitely going back next year.
Love it here! Just got back from our second visit in 8 months- the lodge is lovely and the hot tub is great, plus a beautiful location- what more could you want? The welcome chocs and fizz was just lovely too!
We booked a winter break at Longnor Wood. This place had everything we were looking for: tranquil surroundings, adults-only policy, small pods perfect for glamping. It is clear the owners take pride in their work from the care put into maintaining the grounds. Nothing was too much to ask, either: everyone we spoke to was willing to help/advise. We will definitely be back in the summer season to be able to try out the sun loungers!
Really awesome campsite!! We had two nights here and we were probably one of the smaller vans so we didn’t have many of our own facilities. We ran out of gas but luckily they had a microwave and kettle in the kitchen which saved us! There was also a tumble dryer that charges 20p for 10 mins so we dried our towels after our shower. The toilets were clean and the showers were good, I thought the ladies showers could have benefited from a stool to put your clothes on to save them being on the floor. I went to get one of our camping chairs. Some stuff fit on the hook on the back of the door but not all All the facilities were really close to the park ups. There was even a dog washing area which thankfully we didn’t need to use, but best was the enclosed dog field where you could just let your dogs run wild! We’ll definitely stay again if we’re up this way. Loved that it was adult only too!!
This is our 5th visit. It is a fantastic place to unwind. Staff are welcoming and friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble. The hot tub is well maintained and private. As its adults only, it is quiet and a great place to get away from life for a while. There are some lovely places to eat close by and it is a good location for attractions such as caverns, peak wildlife park and even alton towers.
We liked this site a lot, the only thing that stopped me giving five stars was the approach to the site. It was a 1/3rd of a mile long, steep single track road, with a bad camber on the corner to the site. That said, it caused us no issues other than perspiration! The site is very clean, the toilets are superb with showers and a disabled facility. You are in a tree lined site as the local law says you cannot see the site from the road. Electric and water pitches are available and I feel they are worth it?!!? TV is a bad point! If you like to watch Corrie and crossroads etc I am glad to say that and other channels are totally unavailable without sky! We were lucky... Stuart, one of the wardens knocked on the door as he had seen me playing with my TV aerial and explains that satellite was the only way. Our pitch had a suitable connection but we had no sat box! Five minutes later Stuart, a new warden, arrived, out of hours , and offered us the use of a satellite modem! Within ten minutes we were watching satellite TV and there was no charge!! Hats off to Stuart and his wife as we kept bumping into them as we were sight seeing the local towns and they were superb company! So, to summarise... Electrics, water, a 240. Volt supply and full drainage Facilities, on site were superb, staff are helpful. The site is quiet, secluded and well run. It is in the middle of the beautiful countryside and quite central to some excellent places to visit! Go there and enjoy.... We are going back next year!
Only visited to deliver some building materials but the site is in a lovely quiet location .the staff seemed very helpful and the toilet block I used was very clean , tidy and had modern fittings.
