Rivendale Holiday Park

Loved this site. Well set out, good sized pitches and a modern, clean and warm facilities block. Would have been 5 stars of we had been told that the cafe only sells coffee and cakes in the low season, despot the site having over 40 units staying. Also bar/restaurant wasn't serving food either, so we were lucky we had food on board. They should not advertise that they have food on site if they don't have them open.

We rented one of the wooden "yurts" for a weekend and were lucky enough to have quite a few inches of snowfall! The walks around the area, particularly whilst blanketed white, were stunning and I recommend walking to the nearby village for a pub lunch. The yurt was comfortable but, with 8 of us and the log burner on, it was extremely hot and we had to have frequent breathers outside in the snow.

Stayed in a pod with 2 other people. Didn't feel squashed even with all our stuff inside as well. The decking outside was very useful and allowed us to enjoy the outside in comfort. Toilets where very satisfactory and the shower water was nice and warm. Shop was well stocked and not overly priced. Very enjoyable stay

Despite the weather it was a very pleasant weekend stay. The food in the cafe was great and the pub was nice. The campsite was busy but not noisy and there was a very relaxed atmosphere. There are a few walks to do from the campsite and the one I did was very pleasant with a cave 1/3 of the way round and a pub just over half way. The toilets and wash block were the only let down as they needed attention (they were quite muddy and ran out of toilet roll in some cubicles) and they didn't seem to be cleaned at all on the Saturday, despite apparently being checked. All said though, I would happily go back.

Nice site with good sized pitches and onsite club. Nice food and good selection of drinks.
