Well just got back from the Upper House after the wedding of my daughter Cara to her now husband Ben. If I could give the UH ten stars I would. The staff, the food, the venue, well just about everything was perfect. Your only daughters wedding is quite a stressful time and like everyone we wanted it to be a great afternoon and that is what we had. I wouldn't hesitate in saying a huge yes to anyone looking for a venue to stage their big day. Nothing and I do mean nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Superb.....Thank you all so much

Stunning place (Gardens, public areas, building, location). Downstairs bar a bit of a misery, more akin to a train station waiting room. Thought bedroom pretty comfortable, our bathroom tight but functional. Food here good as well, dining room is lovely.

The grounds & building are stunning, no doubt about it. Very impressive. I just wish the rest of our experience was the same though. The directions we were given to our room were confusing, not just for us but the couple in front of us too. We wandered around upstairs for 5 minutes trying to find our room, wondering how it could be such a mystery. Our room was nice, clean & well, OK. Maybe with such impressive grounds, we'd expected more. But it was OK. The soap & shampoo were lovely, though! We dined out in the evening, but when we came to having breakfast, I would have to agree with another reviewer who said the breakfast staff needed training in customer service!! The blonde lady who served us was not particularly friendly, stood by our table without asking us what we'd like & then not especially chatty, little eye contact & not much of a smile. It wouldn't have taken much to have made a much more positive impression on us, we only stayed one night! The paintings in the dining room were amazing though!!

Excellent service and very high standards. Would recommend the afternoon tea, delightful. Some chocolate would get 10 stars.
