Story

Welcome to The George Hotel!

Located in central Burslem, the Mothertown of Stoke-on-Trent, a version of The George has stood proudly in the centre of Swan Square since the 1600's. With a dedicated team working tirelessly in front of house as well as behind the scenes to provide board and lodgings and provide a service that you would get if you were at home! The unique atmosphere bears a resemblance of what it would have been like all those years ago. The George echoes the motto of the Burslem Coat of Arms…. 'Ready'

This place is diabolical very low standard and the website looks like your going to a lovely hotel.im only here for work and not normally one to moan but this hotel shouldn't have been left to get like this I have been tempted to sleep in the van! And if it wasn't so cold at night I would be! Yes it's that bad as soon as I walked into my room I went back to reception and asked for a full refund and I would go elsewhere and was told they couldn't do it and their sorry.. their website is false advertising the owners need do something before this place becomes a health hazard !

It's friendly atmosphere makes for a warm welcome, and the bar staff are efficient. The cleaning girls are hard working and friendly! The hotel itself is a little dated but clean.

Get what you pay for: the room was cheap and in turn very basic. Seems clean. Rubbish shower. No stirrer of any kind for the coffee. Comfy bed. Very old decor which desperately needs updating but the place does the job. For convenience sake I probably would stay here again.

If we could possibly rate this place any lower then we would. Only one member of staff was around when we arrived to check in.. they informed us that there was a £50 key deposit on arrival which the booking site said nothing about. On getting to the room it appeared very basic.. the worst part was the bathroom very cramped terrible shower and horrid smell of sewage, loads of little flies in the bathroom window sill, only 2 plugs in main room so where very limited to who could charge phones. No complimentary biscuits with tea and coffee and finally the head board to the bed was incredibly loose like somebody had embarked on a very rawkus evening in the room. Wouldn't stay there again if I was being paid. 0 stars

Very dissapointed took my elderly mother for afternoon tea to celebrate her birthday. Sandwiches and cakes were stale, the fillings I would not feed to my dog, and the manager said she was unable to give us a refund as she did not have authority to do so .what a waste of £28 don't waste your time and money
