Where do I start? We didn’t expect much for the price. We didn’t get much either, other than somewhere to leave our bags for 40 minutes while searching out a different hotel. said bags were burned after retrieval for health reasons.nThe hotel itself was welcoming from the outside, resembling a post apocalyptic Bates hotel. Having gained entry via the roadwork assault course we entered the foyer - where someone else was checking out having just arrived. Undeterred by the elevated standards of the other guest we received our room keys and navigated our ways through the corridors which reminded me of the Haunted house at Disney after the attraction had decided to leave it to decay.nThe rooms were clean, No scrub that - the rooms may have been cleaned within the last 6 years. My friend had a double room, obviously the honeymoon suite - affectionately named the Mick and Claire Suite see photo.nI had a single room, which immediately made me call Wormwood Scrubbs to let them know their 19th century cell design concepts had been copied and created at a far lower budget.nWe decided to go out to eat and look for somewhere else to stay, eventually deciding that a further 35 minute drive was worth it to preserve our health status.nWe returned to the hotel, retrieved our bags, and returned the keys to reception, who seemed surprised we were leaving so soon, given the premier standards of the establishment. Relieved to find the wheels on my car in the car park / leisure area see photos.nWould I recommend this hotel?nIf you are looking for a cheap, no frills reason to see a skin / tropical disease specialist - this is the place for you.
Unfortunately my stay at this hotel was very disappointing. The cleanliness and the facilities of both the two rooms we booked were below standard, one of the bedrooms had a faulty radiator which could not be regulated heating at 5 in summer was told the maintenance staff were off. We had booked two day stay at the hotel and we ended up staying one night forfeiting our money rather than spending another night in uncomfortable conditions. Overall the hotel did not give us the value of the money spent I hope management will look into improving the place
Dreadful and Shocking, booked for a family of 5 two rooms for two nights.nBeds are very worn a lumpy, you can feel every spring. We asked for another duvet to lay on that and was told No, don't have any.nOnly had two tea bags per room for 5 people for two nights, asked for more and again was told no although tea making facilities was advertised.nEvery night the amount of noise from traffic and verbal from people hanging around outside doing various of things was terrible Fing and Jeffing all night long.nVery old dirty furniture and floor boards very squeaky with very stained carpets. Rooms very hot and not many windows opened, if it did it came off the hinges.nWe know it was advertised as a 2 star hotel so not expecting much as used as a base. But when your unable to sleep that that is the worse.nSo avoid if you can because it should be zero star.
on arrival one way street was closed due to road works no signs on telling you how to enter parking,we ended up going down the one way street, hotel looks very old, one room was fully of paint and working diy stuff.room it's self had been given a new carpet, bed sheets, the rest was out dated, window should of had a safety lock ,witch was burst opened and window was opened on arrival, rooms where very hot, you walk on the floor and let's just say u can hear every foot step,from everyone , toliet had a light hanging out the ceiling,the silicone around the bath area needs taken off and done again, was clean enough thankfully we only use it for one night, fire alarm was set off at 5am for 2 seconds. People where shouting or talking very loud at 3am, main room didn't have a light it was a security spot light on the wall, I think this place should fix the floor boards and window sills give it a paint , and mayne some new wall paper, maybe the reviews won't be as bad.
Hotel gave abandoned asylum vibes.The bathroom and bed sheets had human feces on them clearly showing no sign of cleaning, although there are 2 cleaners in the empty hotel for at least 6-8 hours. 4 bars none of them look like they have been open since 70s. This hotel is a SCAM the pictures listed are not true or accurate. We asked for a refund hotel refused to even try accommodate us or help us. We had travelled from a bit away for a wedding and ended up sleeping in our car due to lack of availability and the utter STATE of the hotel.nnThe hotel needs shutting down for health and safety. Seriously!
