Beautiful hotel, we came up for my daughter‘s birthday, She was five. Right from the beginning, the staff were lovely. We got an upgrade as well to the executive room with an an amazing view. Bar staff really friendly as well, also the cleaners. I love that the floors have ice machines on too. We chose to return to this hotel because we had a positive experience here before. Unfortunately, this stay was extremely disappointing and handled very poorly.nnWe were assigned a room on the 12th floor. The room was unbearably hot and suffocating due to a malfunctioning ventilation system. The windows cannot be opened, meaning you are entirely dependent on the air conditioning — which was clearly not working. The air felt stagnant and oxygen-poor, and it was so hot that our children were unable to sleep. This is not just a comfort issue; it is a health and safety concern, especially when traveling with children.nnInitially, we were told that a technician would come to fix the issue. After waiting for over an hour in a room that felt increasingly unbreathable, we went back to reception only to be told that the entire 12th floor had a ventilation problem. This was clearly a known issue, yet no one informed us beforehand, despite the hotel being fully booked. It is unacceptable to knowingly place guests in rooms with a serious ventilation defect without warning them or offering alternatives.nnWhen we asked to change rooms, we were told the hotel was fully booked and nothing could be done. Only after we requested a refund so we could leave and find another hotel did a “suddenly available” room appear on a lower floor. That alone says enough.nnUnfortunately, the poor service did not stop there. Upon moving rooms, only one bed was prepared for four people, so we had to return to reception again. We had also purchased a movie in the first room, and despite being told this would be resolved, no one followed up. We ended up paying again so our children could watch it. No apology, no compensation, no ownership of the inconvenience.nnThroughout this process, staff were dismissive and visibly irritated rather than solution-oriented. There was a complete lack of communication, accountability, and basic hospitality.nnThe hotel itself is clean and the breakfast is good but that does not make up for a serious ventilation issue and extremely poor service handling. For a hotel in this price range, this experience was unacceptable.
Our stay was good. Nice room and view in our studio. Tried to check in early but was told to come back which I had no problem with but when we checked back in at 10pm there was no swimming pool reservations left, which my daughter was looking forward to.nnThe shower water wasn’t hot enough for me.nBreakfast wasn’t that great. Food was warm at best and quality of the bread and pasties was below average.nnStaff were helpful , room was clean.nnLocation of this hotel is excellent. Overall a 3.8/5
The location is quite good. Opposite Lambeth North Station and around a 5-7 minute walk from Waterloo.nnI found it odd that we were offered a £10 voucher, house wine or daily cleaning as choices.nnReception did not pick up the phone once during one day of our stay - i called for half an hour before giving up.nnI was told we had to pay for water bottles to be topped up in the rooms - again, ridiculous for the price point. Complimentary water should be provided upon request at no extra charge.nnI also found the bathroom average but not spotless. There was hair in the unused bed on our first evening. There were issues with electrics.nnThe £10 voucher was used but the restaurant staff werent very helpful initially. I had to ask what my options were and what food I could order/ could I have a menu.nnIf you are reading this having read other reviews, none of my comments should be surprising. I would not stay at this particular location again and that is purely down to the hotel itself.nnNote this site does not offer massages in the spa.nnLocation to sights to see was fine.
We had a wonderful stay at Park Plaza Waterloo London and were extremely satisfied with our experience.nThe hotel is perfectly located in the very heart of London, making it incredibly easy to explore the city, especially when travelling with a child.nnIt is truly fantastic for families with children. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-designed, providing everything a family might need. The staff were exceptionally kind, helpful, and attentive, which made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.nnThe overall atmosphere was warm and family-friendly, and we felt safe and relaxed throughout our stay. Thanks to its central location, comfort, and excellent service, this hotel exceeded our expectations.nnWe would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to families visiting London.
