Story

The Table Cafe in Southwark is one of the hidden gems of Bankside. Shaun Alpine-Crabtree, who with partners from the architectural practice Allies & Morrison, founded the restaurant nearly a decade ago and has been at the helm ever since.

Our new bar #UnderTheTable promises to be to cocktail hour what our kitchen is to brunch.

A great venue! We sat outside in the courtyard as it was a beautiful sunny day. The vibe made me feel like I had escaped London for the day and instead was sat in a European City! The food on the whole was very flavoursome. The savoury brunch was really good and a better choice than the pancakes which weren’t great. The portion sizes however are really good, and the quality of the ingredients is evident too.
Stunning cafe and amazing food . We had the chorizo hash which was superb and the fried chicken waffle which is a must try even for the ones who are not a fan of waffles. The sweetness of the waffle with the pickled onions and blue cheese dressing is overwhelming and a must have . The service is a bit slow and we had to wait for 30 minutes for our bill to arrive. However, as it was a a busy Saturday morning I can cut a slack on that and definitely recommend this place as a nice brunch option in London.
This review has been a long time coming, I visited the cafe back in February when my wife and I were in the area for a weekend. The food was so amazing that I had it on my to-do-list for this long to make sure I did a review. The pictures do not do the food or the service justice. We had pre-booked a table for brunch, when we arrived it was fairly empty so we thought perhaps we could have just popped in. No less than 10 mins after being seated the place was packed and there was actually people queuing for a table, I would recommend booking a table in advance just in case. The staff were extremely polite and helpful with food choices, which is handy as my wife is so picky! From the point of ordering the food, it arrived in what seemed like five minutes and it was clearly all freshly cooked. The breakfast/brunch options are different but all look amazing, I wanted to try everything. Absolutely loved the food and we will definitely be staying in the same area on our next visit to London. Highly recommended!
Very nice clean spot! Absolutely lived their pancakes! Very nice atmosphere and staff friendly and super kind! Very cosy spot which has an outside seating area off the street so its quite peaceful.Food: 5/5
Absolutely fantastic, delicious, fresh, quick and in a light atmosphere. The staff deserve a special mention here, so kind, thoughtful and well prepared. We felt well attended at all times. It was our second time here and it’s now our must go place every time we come to London. Thank you team for making our holiday so special. Vegetarian options: Excellent vegetarian and vegan options, absolutely fresh, delicious and on time. From the full English breakfast with vegan options to the pancakes it was all amazing.
I loved brunch at The Table Cafe. The place is really lovely inside with good coffee. The restaurant has lots of vegetarian options. I enjoyed the Veggie Plate and we also got the breakfast on top of a waffle. That was SO good. The waffle was excellent. I would definitely visit this place again. They do take reservations, so I would recommend that if you can plan in advance.
Amazing food, service, and atmosphere. The only thing I need to critise is the 10% service surcharge added to the bill. I would honestly prefer giving a tip of my choice.Food: 5/5
First impressions: very relaxed with mello music, we visited on a Thursday morning. Large windows let you watch everyone outside rushing to work! We sat indoors but they have a large outside seating area where they supply blankets. I had the full English, my son had banana and bacon waffles, my wife had salmon and scrambled eggs. 2 lattes and an orange juice. We arrived at 8:45am, by 9:15am all the tables were taken, so get here sharp or book!
First time trying this place whilst in London. Nice, clean, friendly atmosphere and not too full. We visited around 9am. The server was efficient and friendly and the food came quickly. I ordered the full English, which was delicious and my boyfriend ordered the Eggs Benedict, which was also tasty. All round, good place for breakfast, with tasty fresh food. We will be back. :
We had brunch here on a lovely day. The chai latte was perfect. There were so many breakfast options. I had the long weekender with bacon on waffle and it was delicious. The perfect amount of sweet waffle with savory avocado, bacon, and perfectly poached egg. Cutting the egg open over the waffles was so satisfying!!! My friend had the bruschetta, with avocado, sausage, and egg on sourdough and it was a bloody mary flavored bruschetta! So yummy! The service was quick too! Highly recommend this place for breakfast/brunch.
