As a Chinese I reckon that this place is nothing special. It gets busy during lunch and dinner time, and waiting time could be 10-20 min. Some of the dishes are really nice, despite the small portion. Other dishes do not seem to be authentic and do not taste good. The price is high and there is a service charge added on. This is probably the only Chinese restaurant within a one mile radius, so if you really want some Chinese food and don’t want to travel far, give it a try. Otherwise, there are some better options. *Added: one thing interesting that I noticed: those 5 star comments are mostly given by non Chinese customers, while Chinese customers tend to give a lower rating. Personally I think the taste of the cuisine in this restaurant is altered to meet western people’s tongue, and thus actually not seem as original and authentic as it should be. As a Chinese, I would more prefer to go to those Chinese restaurants in Leicester Square to get the “real” taste of Chinese food.

The wonton soup just tasted like water with some sesame oil. The male server was not approachable and our food experience was just disappointing. It doesn’t taste authentic at all. We’ll never go back there again and definitely not recommending it.

Forget 99% of the Chinese restaurants in London that you may have had food from. You haven't eaten authentic (or as close to authentic) Chinese food if you have not eaten at Lin's restaurant. The variety and quality are way ahead of any of the Chinese restaurants that I have been to. Price is justifiably not cheap but worth every penny for the choice of dishes with quality and flavours. The space inside the restaurant is limited. Could seat possibly up-to 30 guests. Service is prompt. I wouldn't rate the restaurant for the beers but they serve alcohol which include some south east asian imports. Good for family dining. Busy at lunch time. They also do take-aways.

It’s hard to find a Chinese restaurant that gets everything right; that uses the proper spices and the old techniques. I was raised on the Chinese food in NYC years ago and Lin’s is every bit as good.

Food hygiene rating of ZERO My Chinese friends tought the food was authentic, but when I found out that the food hygiene rating is ZERO (by Southwark council) I can only give a one star. Restaurants with that rating should be closed down, period.
