We had a comfortable one-night stay while walking the Cotswold Way. It's an old building, so it has its quirks. But I left a rather nice shirt behind in my room, and the hotel staff found it and attached it to my luggage which was being shuttled to our next hotel. I'm forever grateful; thank you so much for your assistance!
My poor nan had food poisoning from the meal she had on Sunday. She had the lamb dish.nnTo your reply:nI have a right to leave a review of an experience, so I find your reply to be quite rude. It is quite obvious when someone experiences food poisoning. It was probably just a one-off, and these things can happen, unfortunately. 3 out of the 4 people had a good meal.
We stayed in Room 1. It was very noisy until late into the night!nnWe've travelled a lot but this is the first time I've had to pay extra to put eggs on my toast. We'd already paid to have breakfast. To then charge us £13 to put four poached eggs on our toast just seems so petty, not to mention expensive. No other place we stayed on the Cotswold Way did that.
A nice quirky hotel in a quirky English town. An excellent, squeaky clean room with a pleasant view. And yet this stay almost cost us our trip. The water in the shower unexpectedly turned blazingly hot well above the stated 50 C. I jumped out of the cabin with a slight burn on my midriff. A nice young woman rushed up to our room, tried to fix the shower, nothing helped. She admitted right away that it wasn’t the first time guests had experienced this problem and apologized. And yet, and here comes the really bad part, in the conversation that followed the incident, the manager vehemently denied what her employee had admitted to, implying the girl had made it all up. Obviously she was trying to protect her business at the expense of an honest person.
Stayed 1 night while walking north to John O’Groats. Had a fabulous room 9 and a tasty dinner. Breakfast is a basic continental but you can upgrade to cooked.nHad a fabulous nights sleep and it’s a lovely village- very scenic. Highly recommend.
