Very friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Beer is well kept and the pub stocks a fine selection. Alas The food on our visit was well below par, served Luke warm, the burger and chips were burnt and the bun had obviously been sitting on the shelf for a few days! Onion rings were cold. The salad was very dry and very obviously just thrown together in an instant! For the price it was abominable. Nearly £30 for both meals.

Take off your muddy shoes and walk onto a clean polished floor. Greeted by smiling staff and friendly landlord and a great open log fire. The Black Horse was a perfect place to stop for a pint and respite before carrying on our Cotswold Way walk to the Tyndale Monument, Wotton-Under-Edge and back to Dursley and Woodland House B&B where my group of friends were staying for the weekend. The Black Horse Inn also has 5 rooms for B&B. Although we did not stay for lunch I am told by some of the locals it is a great place to eat with a wonderful peaceful atmosphere.

Visited for the second time in two weeks as in the area house hunting. What a wonderful pub this is. We were met with a very warm welcome on both occassions (the landlord remembered us from the week before). The food was excellent and served quickly, even though they were busy. The evening menu is even better than the lunch one, though this was very good. Lovely cosy decor. We are definitely going to be making this a regular even if we don’t end up buying the house.
