We're a country hotel in Berkshire's most beautiful spot on the River Thames. Home to the Gym & Spa at Streatley. Stay in our beautifully refurbished bedrooms and, whether you're staying or not, enjoy coffee, drinks and a light bite in our new bar & terrace. We're refurbishing our restaurant, meeting and events spaces to create the most amazing venue overlooking the river and our restaurant & the Boat House Deli & Cafe are currently closed.

We Booked on line at their website, paid for the up grade for top floor  room.They mentioned about the renovations and said the restaurant was closed but a continental breakfast was available. 
We arrived through the afternoon checked in. The local area and the bar were excellent. We had a great meal over the river in a small pub.  
The room was excellent.
BUT
When we wake up and look for the continental breakfast, yes it's available pre-packed and yes you have to pay extra.
I approach the receptionist who bluntly said "that is the way it is"

After arriving home in Australia I had the pleasure to travel to New Zealand , stayed in a serviced apartment a hell of a lot cheaper then the upgrade room at the Swan, they supplied continental breakfast for $12 which when added to the accommodation was still  a lot cheaper the the Swan at 150 pounds with NO Breakfast.

The owners/operators/managers need to sharpen their act.
They are after all in the hospitality industry 

How to take the shine off a great location, treat people like the Swan Hotel treats the customers.

The streatley hotel was a wonderful experience from the clean comfy rooms to the kind and helpful staff. I recently stayed overnight with my girlfriend and we both enjoyed every minute the views we amazing from he thames. We hope to come visit soon

Nice place, friendly staff, currently under refurbishment so a little bit noisy. Once fully open there will be a Coppa restaurant and wonderful place for weddings

I've had a great experience at The Swan! Fantastic customer service, all the staff has been friendly and helpful!

I look forward to be back here, since the area is very quiet and relaxing! Strongly recommended!

Stunning venue with brilliant staff. Half of the building still under refurb, but that caused no issues during our stay and we had a superb weekend break. Will definitely be back!
