Best service in YEARS, and that’s not just because of lockdown. I forgot how much of a difference a good waitress can make. Pleasant, efficient, glasses magically always topped up, knew the menu, confident food recommendations which were bang on i.e. the black pudding scotch egg which was knockout good! I had the 12oz ribeye medium rare for main and it was amazing, really nice. Then the crème brûlée for desert just seemed like the best one I’d ever had. So I can’t fault the evening really. Many thanks.
The restaurant is upstairs, above the pub. Service has been prompt and nice. I had a burger and was not exceptional but certainly tasty. For dessert a Crème Brûlée, certainly not Irish but really good! There was a good selection of daily specials, but the menu has also some local and international proposals. Good selection of beers, I went for a local Lager and it was ok. Wheelchair accessibility: Did not see a lift and the stairs are quite tight. The space upstairs is also somehow difficult to navigate. Tables have very bold legs which can certainly get in the way.
We had the BEST service and food here! Cozy and quaint but a little upscale atmosphere. You feel like you're in a special place but not too pretentious where you can't go in some casual clothes. Classic dishes from burgers and fish n chips but also elegant touches like the smoked halibut and tomatoes in creme. Close to the Clayton Hotel. We loved it so much we went twice! Kid-friendliness: I don't think it's an ideal place to take children but might be possible. Tables seem like they're for small parties. Parking: We walked there every time. I didn't notice much parking. Maybe a few spots on the street. Wheelchair accessibility: It's on the second floor and it's a small staircase so i don't think it's wheelchair accessible.
Nice lively atmosphere, Good food and service! The Guinness served just right!
Their fish special was delicious! Perfectly prepared/cooked, nice and tender with a crispy skin. Fantastic meal, nice people.
The food, service and cocktails were excellent, best steak I've had in Dublin thanks to the awesome chef Brian. Will definitely be back. I would highly recommend the Sussex Restaurant for any event.
Excellent, delicious cocktails, really excellent food. Well worth a visit, you won't be disappointed. The full team are are so welcoming and great fun but professional.Food: 5/5
Straightforward, well-priced, conventional lunch option in a lovely upstairs room of a pub. Simple and unpretentious menu - burgers, prawn linguine, superfood salad. Service is unassuming and prompt. Beers are reasonably priced. Missing a bit of care for the fifth star - my burger was a bit dry, for example. Overall a safe and dependable choice but not terribly exciting.
Fabulous Time we had!!! We were served by a Polish guy, full of wit and courtesy. Unforgettable evening and the food faultless!
Amazing simple and delicious food. Nice portion sizes. Mussels were brilliant. Service was excellent and extremely helpful. Highly recommend the place for a nice dinner date or smaller groups.
