It’s located just 3mins from the town center but come with lots of parking space. The staff is friendly and helpful during our visit. The food is well prepared, tasty and good portion for Sunday roast dinner. Very delicious and fresh Scottish mussels with chips. Would recommend and visit again
Food was lovely, as were the staff. Great atmosphere and location too. Definitely recommend and plan to come back!
Service was great, food was ready so quick and it was all delicious.
Was recommended by friends and family. Booked a table for two on Sunday at 5pm. On arrival had to wait for our table at the bar. Waiting for 10-15mins. Was sat at the back of the restaurant right near the garden door which was left open many of times from people leave, so was freezing cold. The restaurant was very busy and felt like you were packed in like sardines. We both ordered starters which were mediocre and both ordered the Sunday lunch, which I was told, that it’s fantastic. We both ordered the lamb. The lamb was very tough and over cooked and the vegetables that came separately were undercooked and still hard. If you want a average meal it’s fantastic but if your looking for quality, I would not recommend it. The pints of beer are town prices £5.10. Will not be retuning in a hurry.
Amazing Sunday lunch with plenty of mash to go round. Really lovely staff too
Visited for lunch today with two friends. This was the first visit for my friends and we came on my recommendation. Lunch was excellent and all staff we spoke to were very pleasant. Only comment I would make is that I would like to see more vegetarian selection. Other than that first rate.
Travelled for a holiday in the north east. The food portions were great and the quality is very good. The crispy pork belly and black pudding smash was amazing, easily one of the best mains I've had recently. The only problem is that I'm stuffed after 3 courses .
Love the Sun Inn. We visit regularly for a family Sunday dinner or an early evening meal. Great prices and great portion sizes - definitely get what value for your money. Always reasonable waiting times and good choice on both adult and kids menus.
Twelve of us have just had a lovely lunch today. Every meal was excellent, especially my belly pork dish. The staff were all pleasant and friendly. The pub itself is of lovely decor. Our group are away for a weekend in Morpeth, we're talking about calling on Sunday for lunch on our way home.
Lovely evening meal at the Sun Inn as always. Lasagne was superb. The prices are reasonable and the quality of the food is excellent. Great service everytime we visit.
