Lovely food, friendly service. I had the Chicken with risotto, my husband had the Bubble & Squeak with sausage. Generous portions, creatively displayed on the plate. Very appetising! He had a beer and I had wine. Highly recommended
Great pub with a good selection of ales and a varied menu. Great service from the bar staff and overall it had a nice atmosphere with a warm welcome. The food was very good but mine and my wife's chips were a little on the warm side otherwise I would have given 5 stars. It's a bit pricey for the food compared to other pubs but I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for so I have no argument with the prices.
Best Sunday lunch in years, choice of beef lamb or pork roasts and many others. Fabulous gravy. Very reasonably priced. It is a busy busy pub and rightfully so. 2 lunches a bottle of wine and a pint £60.
Well worth a visit. Lovely local pub, food was to a high standard and not expensive. Well attended to by the staff. The lamb chop was excellent. Only scored 4* as I found some plastic in my pudding
Had lunch there today, 4 people included 1 vegan & 1 vegetarian. Spoke to staff member ‘Cally’ prior to booking for vegan options & then again on arrival, she was more than helpful, went out of her way for us. Food was amazing, good sized portions on warm plates & food was hot. Staff were amazing, very friendly & attentive, smartly dressed Place was very clean,. We all throughly enjoyed it all. Apple crumble was also amazing. I am a very fussy eater. They also have a dog free restaurant which was great for me as l’m allergic.
We had vegans and coeliacs in our group and all were very happy with the options and the meals received. We waited a little while for meals to come out but that's nit picking and doesn't spoil our time there. Will be back
Absolutely terrible service, the manager wants sacked, completely and utterly disinterested in serving customers or ensuring they’re happy. We had to wait 30 mins for our table even though we had pre-booked online. We had a dog and nothing was said until we sat at our table that dogs aren’t allowed in that area and we didn’t put on the booking we had a dog, no where on the website states you need to specify this. After taking the dog to the car we waited another 30 mins for someone to even take our order, we had to ask someone to come and do it, the manager eventually came over to take the order and didn’t even offer an apology. After that we waited another hour before any food appeared again after complaining about how long we were waiting. We had asked for some specific items which we didn’t get but couldn’t be bothered to complain at this point as would’ve taken another hour. The manager and a couple of other staff were clearly doing all they can to avoid work. Polishing cutlery when they should be serving etc. We complained at the end to the waitress who agreed that their manager and deputy were useless but we didn’t get a discount or any other form of apology. If he continues to ‘run’ this pub it’s not going to stay open much longer. The food itself was quite nice such a shame about the service as it’s such an easy problem to fix.
Went for lunch, very organised efficient pub. Clean fast service and good food to boot. Christmas special stotties on offer when there. Very tasty, although I was a little confused as to what to do with the accompanying gravy!
Went here for a lovely meal with family staff were so lovely and helpful. Food was amazing
Not part of the days plan, so delighted to get a late Sunday lunch at a very good price .Definitely will go again
