Great pub, great food. It’s your archetypical english country pub with good friendly service. Plenty of parking too. Has some outdoor seating at the front on a large grassed area. I also like the supply of blankets for those chilly evenings and you insist on staying outdoors.
Fantastic country pub/Restaurant - A worthwhile visit. First thing to mention is, Pre book a table. It gets very busy and is not many tables just for walk ins, It can go from quiet to very busy within a few minutes. So I have been meaning to go for a while now, after hearing some good reports from various people on the food here. So I went and can safely say the food was fantastic! Our party had fish & Chips , Scampi and the Steak & Ale pie. All were superb! Just the right portion size to treat yourself to a desert afterwards too. The food was homemade, generous size and not full of chips which a lot of places do. All very tasty and came with in a reasonable time. As well as the main menu there is also an array of local chef specials on the board. The Chocolate brownie with the Sea Salt/Caramel Icecream was delicious, as well as the Ginger sponge and custard it is easily enough for two and very light. There is a wide variety of beers/ales etc to have but only a couple of largers, the usual for a local country pub. A great atmosphere is too be had here too. Again well worth a visit, you wont be disapointed in your over all experience. Also it is worth a mention that this is also a dog friendly pub.
Absolutely brilliant meal. The dinner was delicious. I had fish and chips and they were cooked perfect. The roast dinners looked lovely. Plenty of dishes to choose from on the menu, also special meals of the day were on a board in the dining area. Try and leave room for a dessert, if you can. I had a twix cheesecake with cream. It was presented beautifully and tasted lovely. The restaurant was very clean. Would be better to reserve a table, as the Inn was busy. Plenty of car parking spaces.
Incredible food & great service. Steak & Ale Pie was excellent. Biscoff cheesecake special was incredible too. New favourite place for a pub lunch.
Stopped by for the first time hoping to get a table for two. No problem, we had a small table in the back. I had large beef dinner, my husband had large Lamb roast dinner. Impeccable food. Quick service. Lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
First time eating here. The atmosphere was lovely and laid back and service was great. Food and value for money was very very decent. Loved the proper home cooked chips and home made coleslaw salad. I only wish we had time and money this day to sample the more creative aspects of the very varied menu. It all looked so fab x As it was we were in a rush and on a tight budget particularly this day but looking forward to spending more here Highly recommend
Food excellent. Service excellent. Staff all very friendly & lovely atmosphere... we were visiting friends & would definitely highly recommend... we are from the West Midlands... will definitely visit for an excellent meal again when we are up this way ... 10/10 well done
3 fabulous courses although recommend you book as was very busy. Which is a good sign , however they accommodated us in the bar which was fine. All courses were generous and really well made, so great value and under £90 for 3 courses for 3 people and 2 drinks each . Not local but will go again when back down here . ALL the staff were pleasant and friendly which is a good sign too . Thank you for a great visit
Our Local pub, but very disappointed on the quality of the food on this occasion, ordered 3 meals, one was a rump steak which was tough to cut and very fatty, also had the steak and ale pie with veg, the pie was tough to eat, looked liked it had been in microwave & the veg was cold. The 3rd meal was gammon Steak which was fine. Never had this problem before here as the food is normally very good, but on this occasion the stantard of food have not been met. Unfortunately.
Great Sunday lunch, we had the vegan option which was really tasty, and they accommodated our requests such as we are trying to be vegan, but we absolutely want the cauliflower cheese please happily. The kids had fish goujons which looked amazing, and when they left half of them I was delighted to find they were amazing. Very friendly and welcoming, hope to return!
