Driven past here a few times and finally decided to go in and so glad we did! Lovely, friendly welcome, speedy service and excellent food! Very impressed at the lady who helped another customer with their wheelchair. Nice menu, offering a range of options for veggie and non vegetarian. Lovely puddings too! Definitely on our ‘keep’ list!
Often come here for either a meal or drinks.hotel is quaintly old fashioned but always really clean. Meals although not the cheapest around are very good quality and great portions. Drinks are always of good quality, on good days the outside space is excellent with a good sized playground for the kids. Would thoroughly recommend for either a good afternoon or evening.
Staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. Our room had a few plumbing and heating issues. Cistern kept filling, but because of my background, I could resolve it. The radiator thermostat valve wouldn't close, so we had to jam the window open to bring in some cooler area. Bed was comfortable and we slept well. Breakfast was great.Rooms: 3/5
Food was lovely Lovely downstairs area with homily feel, great roaring real fire. Only issue was we were sat upstairs in a back room which had no heating on several other customers left. Quite spoilt the day to be far, we had drove for 40min because of its recommendation by friends. If returning I would stipulate on booking downstairs only
Had lunch here , the steak and ale pie . Melt in the mouth steak in a home made pie , it was delicious. Table service which was ok to start with but then had to keep asking for service another round of drinks which then the empty glasses were not taken away . The dessert menu and then again to order dessert Not a good first impression on our first visit but may return just for the delicious food .
We ate here during our 4-day break in Northumberland. As we visited at night we found it very difficult to find despite using the satnav. We followed the same route the next day and could see the signage more clearly through the roadworks. The restaurant was welcoming and the food was good.
Nice place, lovely scenery has lost of character but the downside is the price of the food and drinks are terribly expensive i.e. steak and ale pie £17 00. Fish and chips starting from £17.00 / £22.00 sorry won't be returning as we are four pensioners and find these prices out of our LeagueService: 4/5
Had a wonderful meal with my family, amazing food and lovely staff. Gorgeous spot and so cosy. Will be back
Fantastic place to pop in for a bite to eat. Bonus points as they allow dogs in. Will definitely be making a return trip during the summer to enjoy the outdoor seating areas.Service: 5/5
Fantastic atmosphere, lovely staff, and probably the best steak and ale pie I've ever had.
