The Stewart centre have helped me learn to cope with my mental health better. Dr Glen is an amazing world class doctor who really does put the patient first and does her very best to make you feel heard and does everything she can to help. The practice and numerous doctors and nurses have helped me when I was at my worst and had help for the last four years on and off. Yes the service may be extremely busy and you don’t always get appointments as often as you would like but this isn’t down to the centre it’s the pressure and sheer volume of individuals needing help. I was on numerous waiting lists like everywhere in the NHS which took a large amount of time. The government have cut funding and aren’t putting as much resources that the public desperately need into mental health services. I truly believe the centre is trying their best with the resources they have. As a patient I think they are a great service and I truly wouldn’t still be here without their help I was given.
I would advise anyone with mental health issues not going here. Very unhelpful and make you feel like you don't have problems and treat you like you are not capable of making your own decisions. I will never step foot in this place again. This is a terrible service, and should be assessed by the mental health board.
joke of a place for mental health, psychiatrist part time lucky if you see them 4 times a year, cmts discuss your cases which is a breach of data , no wonder so many young men dying , should be held accountable, dont go here if you want mental help make it worse , my cmt nicola is the worst person iv ever met and she is a disgrace to scottish mental health INCOMPETENCE!
if i could give 0 stars i wouldndidnt even want to write a bad review as my care from the ‘student’ Natalie was so great , though Dr Boyd has completely ruined my experience with the nhs mental health services.nConstantly being fobbed off for monthsfrom june , no sign of an appointment. I continued to phone while at my worst, even with constant suicidal ideation i was just left. Every-time i phoned which was on a daily basis for weeks, as i was told to just keep pestering them, which i now wish i never wasted my time and energy on constant excuses were made for me having no contact with anyone. I was told months ago from someone at the practice that if i wasn’t happy to make a complaint to the board but i thought id give dr glen the benefit of doubt as i know the demand for these services are high. I was given an appointment for September more than 3 months later & she didnt even bother to phone me! when i phoned i was made to question if it was actually a phone call as she was expecting me in apparently, ive heard that many excuses i dont know whats true but to my surprise i dug out the letter and the text messages and it says telephone consultation. So as you can imagine it’s now my last straw i’ve been completely neglected for months even though they knoe of my struggles. I built the courage to speak up and get help and i wish i never did because it’s just made me worst. Should be ashamed of the service your providing to our community, and imm actually more angry at the fact i know its not just me receiving this type of care.nYour supposed to help the problem not be part of it.nnshould be ashamed
After suffering a mental health crisis and subsequently being diagnosed with ADHD by a private psychiatrist, my gp referred me to the Stewart Centre to discuss my ongoing care.nnI was incredibly anxious prior to the appointment, however was surprised by the service I received after reading so many negative reviews.nnThe doctor I saw Dr Boyd, was not only attentive, caring and supportive, but validated my private diagnosis. I thought that shared care may be agreed, where I would continue to have follow ups with my private psychiatrist with the NHS taking over responsibility for my medication. Dr Boyd instead confirmed that they would take complete responsibility for my care going forward.nnI cannot emphasise how validating and relieving this was, and I'm taken aback by the excellent care both my gp and The Stewart Centre have provided.
