Had another very good meal tonight. Good choice of food from an extensive menu and good quality. Nice selection of real ales too. Just up the hill from the railway station, and with a large conservatory and good beer garden with excellent kids playground and nice views. Really good place to eat and drink. Nice walking options on the Helm nearby. Great pub. April and sat outside in the sunshine this evening! Lovely.

I love this place! I found it by chance last year because it was close to the train station (albeit a decent uphill walk) and loved it so much when I returned to the UK with friends this year we made it our first stop. Nice open hill nearby to hiking, "The Helm". The rooms aren't Hilton's, but that's what makes them perfect. Just the right charm and cleanliness to be comfortable and fit the "behind the pub" charm. Much of the attached Pub's food is way above Pub grade, yet not above a good pint or Wednesday night quizzing. Easy, free parking for guests. Outside of town and quiet despite being at a crossroads. If you love this style of lodging come visit the Station Inn!

Cosy pub with an okay selection of beers. Friendly staff and a nice place to pop into for a pint. Lots of big tables, although I imagine you'd need to book it's ideal for groups.
