Very welcoming local pub. Called by this place as our daughter and her young family are moving to the local area and was pleased to find a great social atmosphere with many young families and ( as it happens ) a lot of fun with a great Elvis impersonator blasting out some classic songs in the corner. Looking forward to calling in every-time we pay our daughter a visit

2 and a half stars really as having returned to this establishment on 4 occasions now it seems it's a pub of 2 halves. Midweek it seems fine food is ok but a bit expensive and the real ales are good. But on a Friday night and weekend it's not good. There's young staff used on the Saturday last time I visited . 3 males behind the bar who never left the bar and a young girl running around the floor mainly serving . Not sure if she was new or not but although a pleasant girl she didn't really know the job. Serving food to the wrong tables and we had our courtesy check after the meal was finished. On the last visit (Fri night) my real ale was awful and very cloudy so when I asked for another the young male server just turned all the real ale labels around and said there all off ? . Not good on a Friday night. On this visit I had chicken tikka curry. Edible but totally tasteless. Just diced dry chicken in a sauce on a mound of rice and a popadom dripping in oil that went soggy quickly. I won't return for food again as it's not the cheapest either maybe for a pint on occasions.

Lovely pub...really made to feel welcome with my 5 year old and one year old daughters. Staff couldn't do enough for us; even offering alternative vege option when something not available. We'll be back!

Very generous owners gave a great Christmas party at their own expense for the local children.
