This place is absolutely awesome! Most of their beers and ciders are local—some of them brewed by people who work there. Because they do not have a kitchen, there is not much food to choose from, but both the steak pasty and the veggie pie were very good. They bake everything on site. Most of the regulars are friendly folk who are quick to strike up a conversation, so it's fun to go there even by yourself.

Husband and I popped in for light lunch. Looked nice from outside. Very quaint place inside and extremely busy inside. Husband made order whilst I struggled to find us somewhere to sit. Guiness was well chilled to my liking. Husband has soft drink. Steak Pasties were very hot and delicious served on paper plates. Took photos. Enjoyed visit.

Fantastic rustic pub with sea view from the beer garden. Locally made cider and even mead.

The Square and Compass is a nationally-renowned pub, consistently rated in the Top 5 by CAMRA for decades. The pub is near an excellent car park, gravelled, with a grass over-flow. The car park is £2 for the day, there are toilets... and a Woodhenge! The pub has a central entrance way, terminating at a serving hatch. On either side are cosy rooms with fires. There is a fascinating museum, focusing on locally found fossils, along with some more recent (human) relics. The ale selection is great, and if the mead is available, it is well worth sampling. The pub makes a perfect start and finish to the wealth of coast walks: Dancing Ledge and Winspit are close, and Seacombe will reward tge scramble required to reach it.

We love this quirky little pub. Cosy atmosphere and they often have a good fire on the go! Very popular with walkers. Great beer and the views of the sea is stunning.
