We have been to the Sidecar many times and had a great experience, but unfortunately I'm not sure if we'll ever be back, at least while Marco is employed at front of house. We arrived and were greeted by a friendly lady and directed to wait at the entrance of Sidecar. We waited for 5-10 mins while staff passed us by and I took the opportunity to browse through the drinks menu. While we were looking through the menus, Marco arrived. He seemed to be upset that we had picked up the menu. He explained that the menus are expensive and frequently stolen, by way of implying that we may be there to steal the menu? It was a bit awkward but we exchanged pleasantries and asked for a table for 2. He continued on to say that he was not happy with us touching/browsing the menu. We were a bit taken aback by his behaviour. In an effort to lighten the mood i said in jest that we were not here to steal menus. He replied "that's what everyone says". I'm not sure if Marco was having a bad day but this is completely unacceptable. At this point we had had enough and decided to leave, a celebration turned sour. A real shame as it used to be one of our favourite cocktail spots.
And so it continues to be probably my favourite place for a winter cocktail in Dublin. Lovely Christmas decor was in full bloom on this visit and as usual the staff were nothing but accommodating in finding us a seat on a November eve full of crowds. Not to mention the drinks are, of course, fantastic all round.
Amja was a wonderful hostess! So helpful and knowledgeable. Lovely atmosphere! Adore the complimentary Prosecco.
What a great spot to grab a few drinks - it’s a new place which explains the low amount of reviews. The waitress treated us so well and was truly a nice person, we loved chatting with her! The drinks were delicious and memorable. Definitely stop by if you’re looking for a nice spot to enjoy some company. It’s located in the hotel lobby so might take a few turns to get to.
We went there for Valentine’s day and we had such a great time! Thanks John for your service and nice chat! Cocktails were really tasty. Don Javier’s dove was my favorite of the night!!
I didn’t go here for 2 years and to my surprise the bartender who was on when I returned remembered my exact order without me even giving a hint. It’s little things like that that make a place feel special. I’ve stayed in the hotel several times and the cocktail bar always stood out to me as a great place to unwind. Also, it has a real fireplace which is lit during the winter months, just really cozy and a nice place to relax and have a drink or two.
Beautiful bar, we were treated so well by the staff and our waitress Ailbhe was so kind. Definitely recommend!
Went to The Sidecar on a whim on New Year’s Eve with one of my friends and we rang in the new year with the staff! We were served by John & Lee and not only did they offer us complimentary champagne since there was a little back log hardly on drinks but they also were up for the chats and they were very knowledgeable about making cocktails. Both my friend and myself loved our experience here, it’s a hidden gem that not many people know about but not one to miss out on. The ambience is great but it’s the staff and the diligence on cocktails that makes it phenomenal. Will be back!
Hidden gem in bustling Dublin city center! An absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. Beautiful cocktails and tasty food. To top of everything, what impressed the most was the service, 10/10!! Our host Vittoria is an angel! So kind, genuine and accommodating. She also has amazing knowledge of cocktails. Pro tip: You can ask for a certain flavor, taste, ingredient, spirit and she will have it made for you even if its not in the cocktail menu book!!! Wow!!
Gorgeous place but the signature cocktail felt watered down, lacking taste and strentgh. Not what I’d expect from one of the priciest cocktails in Dublin.
