Popped in here after a long day at Wingham Wildlife Park for a bite to eat after having no success finding anywhere else. A really old pub with a huge history, dating back apparently to the Roman times when it was a theatre. No parking but the service was polite and fast, the food was hot and fresh and four meals were delivered to our table within fifteen minutes of ordering. A relatively small pub but would highly recommend! Typical Greene King pricing and standards - very impressive!
Sat outside, pleasant on a warm day, not to busy. Food was freshly cooked, nice and hot. We had the 2 pub classics for 11.49, very good value. Staff pleasant and would visit again next time we come to Canterbury.
Yummy! I had a great British pub meal here... a slice of meat pie, mash and veg. Plenty of rich filling in the pie and perfectly cooked vegetables. The Gravy was just as moreish! If you're looking for a decent meal, without needing something fancy, head for The Three Tuns. A great little historic pub in the heart of Canterbury. Thanks team.
THE GREEN KING PUB IN CANTERBURY The service was good. The food; a great pub meal for seniors £5.49 for an appie I had chicken strips but there were several choices and a main I had the fish and chips with mushy peas. Friendly, personal and authentic English pub. Of course there was a Guinness to accompany it This was really a good meal for a great price. If you are in the area; check it out. Ask for JP, Amy and thank Mike for good excellent culinary skills.
This is a great pub for food and drinks - they always have deals on and super tasty big portions for food. There’s also a lot of spaces to sit inside for groups with tv screens or outdoors in nice weather.
It's a shame to give just 2 stars as I quite like this pub but staffing shortages really let it down last night. Over an hour to wait for food and we had to nudge the bar staff not to forget our bar order which I had placed via the app. Appreciate things can get busy but this was only 6pm on a Thursday night. When it did arrive food was disappointing especially the Mac n Cheese which was very insipid and as such barely touched. Understand there was only one chef on and the bar staff did flag the delay at the outset, but these large pub groups need to do better.
Great traditional pub just off the city centre. We visited during the world cup and found it very friendly and welcoming.including our dog The beer and prices were good and the two light scampi lunches for less than £12 were pretty good also. A return visit guaranteed.
Started coming here for date days a few months ago, now it's becoming a regular date day venue. Great food, friendly staff and very reasonably priced for both food and drink. Placed in the heart of Canterbury perfect for a putstop when out shopping and close to the bus terminal too. 2 meals, 2x drinks and change out of £25. Plenty of screens for sport fans.
I only visited for a meeting. I had a couple of drinks. The staff seemed friendly and efficient, and it was comfortably busy. There is a car park nearby, although being Canterbury it is far from cheap I avoid Canterbury for this reason unless I have to go there. I am happy to return, and I have another meeting soon!
Nice pup friendly staff. Just let down by the food I had fish and chips. The fish look burnt cut through it. It was like cutting through rubber . It look like it was reheated. . It was only halfway through my meal. I realised I only had half of my meal so I go and get the other half. Halfway through it as I forgot. But my other half had a lovely meal. Just pick the wrong meal for that day.
