We booked just for an evening meal so can’t comment on the rest of the establishment. However the dining areas were clean and tidy and the courtyard garden we could see was well tended; nothing to say the rest of the business was any different. We were greeted promptly and in a friendly manner. The choices on the menu were all very tempting so ended up eating way more than we should have. The service continued to be friendly and well timed. It felt like time was taken to tend to us, rather than just a rush in and serve. The food; Excellent. Well presented and very tasty indeed. The starters were a good size and the flavour mix just right. My steak was flavoursome and tender whilst being cooked just to my liking. My wife enjoyed her chicken dish just as much. An establishment that deserves its high quality status and one we will definitely be returning to. Highly recommend a visit to the restaurant here.
This hotel is simply exceptional. Rooms are great - spacious, clean and very comfortable beds. The food is on another level. Michelin star without the price or fuss. Cannot recommend it highly enough.Rooms: 5/5

An absolute hidden gem with a beautiful garden that is like being in someone’s house. The afternoon tea was outstanding and the hosts were incredibly friendly. Did not stay overnight, so can’t comment on the rooms. Food & drinks: We had the afternoon tea which was outstanding. We have had a few in our time and this is right up there.
A very nice accommodation and nicely kept gardens. Very clean bedroom and comfortable bed. The bathroom was small and to have a bath or a shower that is situated in the bath it is very difficult and dangerou because its so deep and to get in or out of the bath there is no support handles. I can see a accident happening before long. The breakfast menu was very good and the presentation was excellent though there was a neg, the toast that is served was made with sour dough and you would require a hammer and chisel to cut it. It would have been nice if the toast was made with conventional bread. Although the breakfast room was smart and airy it was like a doctors surgery, it required some background music to make it more welcoming. Also it would have been nice if after being served with the breakfast we were asked if everything was OK and did we require anything else. I feel there was a lacking of people skills by certain members of staff though some of the younger staff could not do enough for you.
We had a delicious meal yesterday, opting for the 7 course tasting menu which provided a fantastic mix of dishes. The paired wines were also great and the staff provided a great service. Would recommend booking in if you're going to be in the area.
Wonderful place..breakfast delious and our room was lovely and very comfortable. Lovely settings and totally dog friendly with a welcome box for them also a welcome in our room for our Pugs of fresh water and dinner bowls ready for their food ... Will come again xRooms: 5/5
Thoroughly recommend this lovely old restaurant. The set menu with delicious amuse bouches cleverly invented by Chef Andy Witheridge to begin a delightful and tasty meal. Service superb from Adam Witheridge.who looked after our every wish just added to the lovely evening....will definitely return!Service: 5/5
