I must say, The Rupert Brooke’s meticulous attention to detail on a culinary and decor basis…are on a high level. This is not a simple “fish n chips”…. We also had a taste of Posh Fries and Posh dirty chips. A must try restaurant for both intimate and corporate experiences!
Very Good. There was some little things that could have made it better. We started off in the bar. They can not give change because they don't have a float? Really? Once everyone had turned up we went over to our table. Taking the orders was quick and the food turned up fast. Once we finished the meal some of us ordered coffee, that took a long time to turn up the place was not busy. The food was excellent scotched egg, main and desert. The dirty chips was amazing! It is not a cheap-eats place so you except everything to be very good. One of the bowls had a lot of chips on the edge broken bowl but was still used to serve. I ordered a lamb dish with peas, carrots, onions that came in a big bowl so it was not easy to eat why a bowl?. The décor was really nice. Overall the experience was very good and the food was excellent, with a few attention to details it could get 5 star.
Nice restaurant, delicious food. I had Fish & chips, loved it, crispy and tasty. The village is very beautiful and starting point for a lovely walk to Cambridge.
Well looked after pub on high street. Loads of outdoor seating along with a friendly staff. Clean bathrooms to boot!Service: 5/5
Our first visit to the Rupert Brooke was amazing! The food, the service, the place... We are from Belgium, please can you open a second Rupert Brooke in our country :-? I recommend this place and we will go back in the future, that's for sure! Xavier, Sophie and Zoé Vegetarian options: Some available Kid-friendliness: No playground as far as I know but the pub is a nice place for kids too comfortable seats, kind people working there,...
Superb ambience, great service, clean toilets, easy parking. Lovely out door seating, dog friendly. Food ok. Need more vegetarian choice. Nice place to go for a relaxed meal or an occasion
Nice ambience and helpful service. Everything enjoyed, we had only one niggle that the ‘potato and celeriac mash’ served with the Beef Bourguignon had no discernible celeriac content at all, we were told there was 50% each of potato and celeriac. However we were given a discount on the coffees on our bill to compensate. Notwithstanding, we enjoyed our lunch at the Rupert Brooke, it was a pleasant place to eat with a very good menu. Thank you! Dietary restrictions: Good choice on festive menu and clearly marked for GF items
Perfectly cooked beef, crunchy roast potatoes with soft fluffy insides, large Yorkshire pudding. Portion is perhaps a bit smaller than we had hoped, but cannot fault the quality. Welcoming staff too, and warm inside on a sunny day but cold Outside. Well known and very popular for miles around, for good reasons. Not the cheapest compared to other local and good places, but we won't hesitate to go back. Thanks to all.
Food was fantastic and they were able to cater extremely well for Gluten Free & Dairy Free options. One of the best meals I have had out recently - Can’t wait to come back soon! COVID-19 restrictions were brilliant too!
The menu is gluten free friendly and the waiters were excellent even though we were a large group. It was my birthday and the staff prepared a small surprise for me, which was very lovely. Food is very high quality and the price reflects that, beautiful preparation. Dietary restrictions: There were many gluten free options and the waiters were knowledgeable
