Stayed for a night, ate & drank. The accommodation is pleasant & comfortable, the shower was a bit hit & miss (the shower in our friends room was apparently excellent, so depends on the room). The bar was clean, well maintained & comfortable, maybe it's just me but I felt the bar area was a little to polished for a country pub (almost like it had been newly refurbished). Food & drink was OK, again struck me as a bit polished & trying a little to hard to be a gastro pub rather than a country pub (think style over substance). Overall we had an enjoyable & relaxing time; would I stay again, possibly but I wouldn't rush back.

Excellent place....catered very well for my complex dietary needs, without me feeling I was a nuisance. Friendly, without being intrusive. Would happily recommend and will go again.

Lunch in the homely Running Horse restaurant. wide range of choice on the menu small dishes as well as starters, mains and puds. Friendly and efficient service. It's Friday so we went for fish and chips - deliciously crisp batter and fat chips.

A very nice place trying to punch above its weight. £50+ for 2 and a half meals and drinks. Barely tolerate kids and dogs.
