Story

The Royal Inn is a family run pub-restaurant situated a stones throw from Portishead's port marine development.

Aside from a fine selection of ales and wines, we also offer home cooked meals and a warm & freindly atmosphere in which to enjoy them.

Our outside seating area provides an excellent spot to enjoy the sun and a refreshing drink in the summertime with a panoramic view of the Severn estuary.

Function rooms are also available for hire, which can cater for parties, buffets, wedding receptions and meetings.

The Royal Inn was built in 1830 by the corporation of Bristol in order to provide a hotel supporting the policy of the specific development of a seaside resort.

Built by and trading for the corporation of Bristol until around 40 years ago, it is thought to be the only seaside hotel built by a public authority during the nineteenth century.

Great food and great view. The sea bream with crab risotto was delicious. The pineapple and ginger upside down pudding with Jaffa cake ice cream was amazing! Highly recommended! Slight downside: decor is a bit tired.

Great food always pleased to help. I go to the Royal every few months and the quality of the food is always high. Over the years the inside has been improved providing a very pleasant interior. There are a number of smaller rooms meaning it never gets noisy and you get a more intimate experience.

Great location. Popped in for lunch on a Monday afternoon. Food was very nice and well priced. Had a few nice local ales too. I would recommend.

The food is Great, especially the Sunday roast. Huge beer garden overlooking the estuary, ideal when the weather is good. Large choice of drinks. Friendly staff.
