Shame really. The food was ok but a trail of disasters when we were there. First no fish available. Then drinks got spilled. Then enormous wait for the food. No explanation or apology. Then 3 year old managed to get really black dirt on her from the garden. Then no tea available. I won't be going back.

I've been here a few times recently. The first time was on the off chance and I have to say it was a lovely Sunday lunch. The second time was a Sunday too. We ordered from the main menu and oh my days. It took forever for the food to come out. We were literally just calling the waitress over to cancel the food and leave when it finally came out. Needless to say, we didn't stay after the main. The third and last visit was a Sunday again and we opted for the Sunday roast for a speedy service. Once seated we were told there wasn't any beef left........ at about 3 in the afternoon. Are you kidding! Disappointed we ordered a different meat. When it came out we looked at each other and said where's the rest of it then. Looking across at the adjacent table we could see that there was no comparison between meals. We called the waitress over to complain and was told that the kitchen was running low and had to stretch things out a bit. This is not the cheapest place and i expect more when I pay good money. I won't be going back!

Great service, great food & drink in a beautiful old pub. Don't usually have dessert but the apple caramel trifle was awesome!👍

Fantastic food at reasonable prices. Service can be a little slow, especially in taking your order - that's the only reason for not giving 5 stars
