Story

The White Lion is managed by myself and my daughter Emily, you will also find other members of my family, Clare, Amy, Ben & Sam, often helping out.
Our aim is to provide top quality, and wherever possible, locally sourced food and drink at a good value price.

The Menu is based on traditional British dishes with a modern twist and we are committed to creating a friendly atmosphere, with great service in tasteful surroundings.

What we want most of all is for you to enjoy yourselves; for you to think of us as the place to come for a drink, for a chat, a meal and for those important celebrations.

Been a long time since I have been here. Seems to be under new ownership. Great menu with a wide choice. Good service too. Opted for soup of the day potato and leek and tuna steak for the main. Lots of space for large groups. Recommended. PS. Don't forget to record your car registration if using their car park.
I went for a meal here with friends last night and the food was really tasty. It's proper pub grub done well, which is exactly what I wanted, and really reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and I'll be back again soon!
First time visiting, was there for a family catch up meal and this was perfect for that. Good ole pub grub and lovely staff. Very yummy meal and cider on tap!! Will definitely be back!!
Not sure if I visited on a bad day. I was looking forward to my visit under new management. Lunchtime visit I was dissapointed at the service, The young lady was working hard, dealing with bar , taking food order, waitresses, clearing tables etc single handed. We had to leave table each time we needed more drinks etc. The meal presentation was good, but under the cheese and bacon the chicken was very dry and overcooked. The chips were delicious.
Went for a drink to check out TWL on Friday... it was great fun with clean tables, lovely service and a pool table to keep you entertained. As we had such a great time we went back on the Saturday with my mum, dad and family friend for dinner. I am a bit of a skeptic regarding pub food as I work in the hospitality industry but I have to say the food was delicious... hot, well presented and all round good pub food we all love to indulge in. To top it off there was karaoke on that evening and my mum had the best time singing along with Diamond Disco - DJ was fab. Highly recommend... its my local and I know for sure my fiancé and I will be back again, again and again.
Came here today for my father in law's retirement celebrations. Drinks were great, service was friendly - the owner was especially lovely - and the food was incredible. Will be back again and again!
What a wonder evening! First time visiting, such a lovely atmosphere and environment. The staff were so lovely! Food was outstanding, I really don't have a bad word to say. Even more impressed when the lovely waitress found out the recipe for something I really enjoyed for me. An excellent gin selection, and well stocked bar also helped wash down our already lovely meal! I would definitely recommend the Meatballs to start in a mushroom sauce, and I couldn't get enough of the Scallops with beautiful and purple! Tuffel potatoes! Really lovely evening!
Seriously excellent food for good prices here. Me and the wife had a wrap and a roast of the day sandwich, incredibly tasty, and loads oof your money. Super nicely presented too. Would recommend this place if you get a chance!
I found the service very pleasant. The food was good. Not a full menu but it came hot and well presented
Everything i liked on the menu has gone… Under new management, nice decor and the stuff is lovely as always but it offers the same burger sort of staff that every single pub does. We visited often for their carbonara and bolognaise, dont want to have burger that is literally what every pub offers. It was out special carbonara and bolognaise place, not anymore…
