Booked Sunday lunch here. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff and we well served. We all selected roasts. Food reasonably priced but I couldn’t give more than an average review. The Yorkshire’s had been produced using too little batter and over cooked. The results were large but wafer thin extremely crispy borderline burnt versions. When you tried to cut into them they shattered into loads of small charred bits like a meringue. I quite like my vegetables just cooked and fresh but the accompanying veg had only been scalded and as result was too tough to be enjoyable. Final thing - only 2 pieces of potato- a bit mean really?

Its a nice quaint pub and restuarant with not bad pricing drinks. The food menu is little bit expensive, but is presented well. If the food was a little bit cheaper to match the taste then it would of gained five stars. The bar staff are really friendly too!

We had our Wedding Dinner here on Friday 29 May for 19 guests. We showed up at 4:30 for a 7:00 sit down. We were given a friendly welcome and enjoyed teas, coffees and other drinks during this time. We were delighted the staff had placed several tables together so we could all be sat as a Wedding Banquet. The table looked lovely and the only thing we added was my bouquet as a centre piece. We all ordered from the menu - and were pleased not to have been forced to choose a set menu as many other venues insist on. And despite the size of our party it all arrived, together and hot, with master chef quality presentation. All 3 courses were excellent and all of our guests commented on how good the food was. My husband had the steak and I had beef Wellington both cooked to perfection. In fact as a table we spontaneously broke out in a round of applause when the chef made a brief appearance in the restaurant. It was genuine appreciation. We all had a fabulous evening and despite it being a busy Friday night it felt like we were the only ones there. We stayed over in one of the rooms, which was comfortable and clean and enjoyed a hearty breakfast the next morning. All in all it was a superb experience and we will definitely dine there again. Thank you to all the people at The Prince of Wales for really making our wedding celebrations very special indeed.
