We are a local pub with a Bar, Restaurant and Private Dining room just outside Newbury.

We serve Great British food all day every day and you can pop in for a pie, a pint or a 3 course meal.

Story

The Red House is a traditional thatched pub set in the beautiful West Berkshire countryside. Chef Patron Laurent has been cooking for over 25 years, working in brasseries, bars and Michelin-starred restaurants so he certainly knows his onions. He loves what he does and wants you to enjoy every part of your experience at The Red House.

We have a busy, buzzing bar with tables, as well as a lovely restaurant overlooking the countryside. In addition, we have a luxurious events room for all occasions.

The private room leads out onto our meadow garden, perfect for summer parties and weddings, as well as our large front terrace to enjoy those sunny afternoons.

We pride ourselves on our excellent service and friendly atmosphere, whether you are here to enjoy a break from a country walk or a beautiful three-course meal that you can choose from a wide selection of dishes such as traditional fish and chips, prime fillet steak and local game.
