This is a stunning pub, extremely nice staff... I came here to complete some work today....nnI've been here a few times and never a bad experience... Josh the manager assisted me during my visit.. top bloke nnThe pig and whistle has comfy, covered outside seating and a real homely feel to the decor inside... Impeccably clean throughout offering Darts and warm pork scratchings nnI tried one... So Fresh, with a rich full flavour, moist a totally different experience from cold ones... Highly recommend.nn
The Pig & Whistle is a traditional pub with log burners and a cosy feel which is centrally located. The food is cooked to order using local produce from land to sea including; Dartmouth fresh fish, meat from local award winning butchers, and local vegetables.nGreat outside seating and secluded patio area with cover.
Another standout suburban pub. In fact a pub that was showing the cricket! Now that's something you don't see very often these days. A wonderfully vivacious girl behind the bar kept us on our toes but was very hard working as well as being very funny. We didn't eat, but the food looked AMAZING! So vegetarians, didn't see too much you would like, but for the carnivores, go for it! Drooling, just thinking about it. Beware, this pub sells t-shirts and I was already wearing a bright pink pig related t-shirt and when I noticed theirs for sale, well, let's just say all my friends were saved from looking at more pink as they didn't have my size. The Guinness was fantastic as was the Mayflower Session IPA.
Excellent local pub. South African owners I believe, great selection of SA food and standard pub dishes. The BBQ Platter is an amazing feast! Great crisps and bar snacks. Watched all of the Rugby World Cup games here and the atmosphere was fantastic. Keep it up!
Can't say enough positive things about this pub. I've been in London for over a month, and finally found a fabulous Sunday roast and some really good food. I highly recommend the Sunday roast pork and beef... actually the lamb and chicken were excellent, too!!! You can order extra stuffing, and if you ask for extra gravy, they bring you a large bowl and not a l ounce, tiny dish. We had nachos and wings on a 2nd visit and were amazed that they made the chips in house! Best nachos in UK by far!!!!! On Friday nights they serve cowboy rib eye steaks you definitely need to book in advance and it was so delicious! We had creamed spinach and mashed potatoes for sides, and I loved them both.
