If you’re in Putney, The Half Moon is definitely worth checking out. It’s not your typical overly polished or chain-style pub. it still has a bit of character and feels more authentic compared to those generic places you see everywhere.nnWhat really makes it stand out is the live music scene. The place has a long history as a music venue, hosting gigs almost every night and even launching some big names over the years . So it’s more than just somewhere to grab a drink, there’s always something going on.nnThe food is classic pub grub, nothing too fancy, but solid and satisfying. The atmosphere is cosy and lively at the same time, especially when there’s a gig on. It doesn’t try too hard to be trendy, which actually makes it more enjoyable.nnOverall, it’s a good mix of traditional pub feel and a proper live music venue, and that’s what makes it different from more standard, chain-like pubs.
Really like the Half Moon — especially since the refurb, it’s looking seriously good. Feels fresh but still keeps that proper pub vibe.nnAlways a good atmosphere, gets lively when there’s music on, and just an easy place to spend a few hours. Drinks selection is solid, staff are sound, and service is quick even when it’s busy.nnBig shoutout to the upstairs/top floor room as well — such a great space. Perfect for parties or private events, and feels a bit more special without losing the buzz of the pub. Love the new artwork as well!!
So pleased to have finally seen a gig at this iconic venue! Friendly staff, great service and a cool atmosphere. Second time seeing The Small Fakers, they certainly didn't disappoint!!
Fantastic pub and live music venue in the heart of Putney. Great service, the food menu ranges from pub classics to special dishes and it's all delicious. The ambience music is a great mix of pop, rock, indie and soul. The live music venue provides a very intimate experience, and it keeps up the great historical heritage which the pub has as a live music venue since the 60s.nnAll in all, the Half Moon is the best place to relax and enjoy great music. From having a few drinks to a wholesome meal, you can't go wrong here!
Came for a quick drink, first visit. Nice large pub obviously geared up as a music venue, even has a venue/performance room for gigs. Large beer garden at the side. Friendly, welcoming and helpful service. Food available but I didn't stay to eat. Great choice of drinks at reasonable prices. Would love to see a gig here.
