We had our wedding reception at the Duke’s Head and we had a lovely experience!nThe communication with the staff before the day was very smooth and they were very flexible to accommodate our needs we chose one of the set menus but made some adjustments.nOn the day we had Jolanda and Kim to look after us and they were very present but discreet. The food was spot on - delicious and very warm!nThe Wolsey Room is so beautiful and bright - our guests were so impressed and the kids invited had plenty of room to play.nWe can’t recommend this location enough for a wedding celebration!
Great location by the river, with basement bar serving the outside tables. Good selection of drink. Menu is concise, sensibly priced and very well cooked and served.nSpecial mention to Kieran who worked the basement bar, interacting with punters and made it a great night out.
Visited for the Chanel 2026 Boat RacennAn absolute cracking day, band was good. However in my opinion they should have started 2 hours before.nMaybe have the band outside on a stage instead of the outside bar.nn2 NegativesnThe room the band actually played in was in some respects overcrowed sometimes & possibly should have been managed. Never the less great time.nToilets upstairs, way to small for the amount of people they had to service. Womens queue was on the stairs, pretty dangerous. With that it mind women where in the men's trying to use the 1 stall also. Not ideal.
I had a fantastic experience at The Duke’s Head. The location is hard to beat, with stunning views over the River Thames.nnThe service was excellent throughout our visit – friendly, attentive, and welcoming without ever feeling intrusive. The staff went out of their way to make sure everything was just right, which really added to the overall experience.nnThe food was equally impressive. The sausages and mash were absolutely delicious. It was also great to see a well-thought-out kids menu, which made dining with family so much easier and ensured everyone had something they enjoyed. To finish, the Bakewell tart from the specials menu was outstanding and the perfect end to the meal.nnOne thing that really stood out was how dog-friendly the pub is. It's wonderful to find a place that welcomes four-legged guests so warmly, making it an ideal spot for dog owners to enjoy great food, drinks, and the beautiful riverside setting without having to leave their furry companions behind.nnThe Duke’s Head is one of the best pubs in Putney. I’ll definitely be returning and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable pub experience.
We were a group of 18 friends and reserved the Wolsey Room at the Duke’s Head in Putney for dinner together, which was perfect for a private evening by the river. The evening went smoothly, and the whole experience was wonderful from start to finish.nThe atmosphere was warm and relaxed, and the room, with its wall of windows and lovely views, was a beautiful setting for our gathering. Our waitress was absolutely excellent; she was very attentive and made everything feel easy, which really added to the night.nWe all thoroughly enjoyed the tasty, well-prepared food, and everyone was very happy with their dishes. The French wines we chose, both white and red, were delicious and went perfectly with the meal.nOverall, it was a fantastic evening and a very recommendable experience for any group looking for a special place in Putney.
